By now, after a few years and many weeks of some wonderfully diverse contributions to this series, we believe our priorities must've become clear: we blatantly care about freshness as much as we constantly aim for novelty. This much was obvious, as much as our admiration for the collective endeavour of our contemporaries in reassessing and reappreciating the past, finding and sharing new ways to listen to it, learn from it and love it all over again. But what never fails to impress us is to realise how timelessly universal this ethic has become, pervading many generations all around the world and captivating people as young as our guest for this episode. Looking at any of the many fronts that make up the multifarious agency of this jeune parisienne, it is hard not to admire her utterly relentless and extremely reliable efforts in making all things musical as accessible and as danceable as possible, regardless of when it was done or where it came from. Mimi's movements in the scene, from her leading role at the fantastic CTW Podcasts to wonderful selections such as this one, are guided by this passion for discovery and driven by a desire to disseminate her treasures as far as she can. At 15 I was a sound engineer in a private radio and I enjoyed mixing with old lenco turntables, spending hours and hours listening to old vinyls. At 18 I was already a resident DJ in the historic nightclub in my city called Papirus. I have always had a passion for unknown and not very commercial music and for some years this passion has become an obsession especially since I follow DJs of the caliber of E-Loud, Carlo Simula, Albion, Sasha Mambo and George Hysteric.

Sara Mautone, ex-fotógrafa de moda, cultiva sua paixão pela música desde sempre, o que a levou as suas sessões de rádio em 2018, com foco na música mundial e balearica.

Seus programas foram apresentados pela primeira vez na Radio Raheem, de Milão, e recentemente no Le Mellotron e Rinse em Paris. É também uma apaixonada colecionadora de vinis, especializada em produções brasileiras, africanas e japonesas dos anos 70 e 80.

Juntamente com sua carreira no rádio, Sara também está provê música em clubes/bares italianos e europeus.

Para Alter Disco: "eu fiz uma seleção de música mundial orientada para os anos 80, alternando entre diferentes gêneros: do funk / pop brasileiro ao reggae japonês, produções sul-africanas e sons latinos, tudo que eu geralmente amo tocar nos shows!"

Sara Mautone, formerly fashion photographer, cultivates her passion for music since ever, which brings her to start her radio sessions in 2018, focusing on world and balearic music. 

Her shows have been first featured on the Milano based Radio Raheem and lately by Le Mellotron and Rinse in Paris. She is also a passionate vinyl collector specialized in Brazilian, African and Japanese productions from the 70’s and 80’s. 

Together as her radio career, Sara is also selecting music in Italian and European clubs/listening bars. 

For Alter Disco: " I made an 80’s oriented worldwide music selection switching through different genres: from Brazilian funk/pop to Japanese reggae, South African productions and Latin sounds, everything I usually love to play at the gigs!"
