If we think beyond the more obvious meaning the term “residency" holds in our culture as a platform that aims to provide stability for artists to create and regularity for the public to access their work, strengthening and deepening their relationship in the process, we realise that some of its most basic senses are lost. Here we tend to overlook or even forget the most essential ones, those that evoke feelings such as intimacy or shelter, as they relate directly to one of the most fundamental concepts of all usually attached to that word, that of “home”. And, even though it can be a lot of things to many people, for DJs it is a special place where the relation to their community can be nurtured on a regular basis and the trust that allows them to be bold in their selections can be fortified constantly. For one as devoted to his craft and dedicated to his audience as our guest for this episode, they are fundamental elements of a truly magical dancefloor that he can take anywhere and everywhere in his musical quests.
