As a proper warm-up to our first ever Dekmantel Festival São Paulo 2017 adventure next week, we've asked five Brazilian locals for a mini mix-series. Wrapping up the podcast-series are none other than our partners-in-crime and good friends from Gop Tun.

Gop Tun is a São Paulo based collective existing out of Caio T, Nascii, Kurc, Gui Scott and TYV. The record label and party collective are known for their huge influence on the local scene, whilst putting out music from artists such as Hatchets, TYV, Prins Thomas and EXZ and running one of the best Brazilian parties out there. Last year they've collaborated with Dekmantel for this new exciting adventure that is Dekmantel Festival São Paulo. Caio T and Gui Scott will both be playing the festival on February 4 and 5, so make sure to check these talents out. Happy weekend!

Carol Mattos iniciou seus projetos na cena independente de música eletrônica com o coletivo MASTERp la n o, de Belo Horizonte. Fazem parte do coletivo 11 artistas que realizam festas em Belo Horizonte que se propõem a redescobrir a cidade e questionar seu funcionalismo restritivo. Além da festa, realizam encontros e oficinas para discutir temáticas que atravessam as experiências festivas, como questões de gênero e sexualidade, território, produção independente, dentre outros.
 
Sua pesquisa pelo techno, house, acid, eletro, com bastante influências de dark disco,  synth pop oitentista e retrô-futurístico, além de abranger muitas novas produções da américa latina. Com sets  marcados por grooves, elementos orgânicos e synths distorcidos criando uma experiência sonora imersiva com batidas intensas que envolvem a pista de dança para uma viagem espacial.

Em 2016 estreou como residente da MAMBA NEGRA e deu início à Sintetica, projeto que visa  abrir espaço e gerar visibilidade para as mulheres que atuam nos vários âmbitos que convergem no meio da música eletrônica. A festa é realizada inteiramente por mulheres, em todas as etapas de produção e participação artística.
 
Em 2017, tocou na primeira edição do festival DGTL no Brasil e no MECA Festival, já tendo participado de algumas das principais festas da cena independente atual, como a Capslock, ODD e Caldo, de São Paulo, participou da Kubik, festa-instalação itinerante de Berlim em suas edições de São Paulo e Belo Horizonte, se apresentou na Ubris, na Costa do Marfim e outras cidades Brasileiras – Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Cuiabá.

I come from a small town in the countryside of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Where I come from there was no electronic music at all , so when I started DJing, if I wanted to listen to it I had to travel for 3 hours to Sao Paulo but even then I couldn’t get into the clubs as I was only 14 years old.
It feels absolutely SURREAL that I’m now writing this post to tell you my Essential Mix is coming this Saturday on @bbcradio1 at 1AM (Friday night) ! The Essential Mix for me was always a way to learn about new music and find inspirations from the best in electronic music. 
It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, you can achieve anything you want in life, you are the only one who can set limits for yourself. Follow your dreams and do everything with LOVE. 🙏🏼❤️
