Jacques Default is a mystery, maybe the best mystery within this bag full of characters, that is the Brazilian electronic music scene. By the way, we’re not even sure if Jacques is Brazilian with this name… another question mark.

This record is translated as “extended holiday”, in a free translation that requires a bit of knowledge about Brazil: basically this is something that happens often here when a national holiday occurs on a Thursday or Tuesday and we simply ignore the bridge on a Monday or Friday and go to the beach, countryside or in parties like there’s no tomorrow in the city.

“Feriado Prolongado” is a conclusion of a trilogy that started with “Saudade Do Futuro” in 2019 and was followed by “País De Passagens” in 2020. Born from live performances using hardware, this release has round edges that only the road can deliver, the road that also inspires the theme around this series: Jacques is going back home after a long (and strange) trip around this land.

Jacques Default é um mistério! Possivelmente o maior mistério dentro deste aglomerado lotado de figuras que é a cenal local eletrônica. Aliás, não temos nem certeza se ele é Brasileiro… Com este nome?

O nome deste disco é “Feriado Prolongado” e apenas nós Brasileiros conseguimos entender o que isso significa, aquele sentimento de liberdade e de simplesmente ignorar a sexta ou segunda e correr para a praia, campo ou se jogar em festas na cidade em pleno abandono.

Conclusão de uma trilogia iniciada com “Saudade Do Futuro” em 2029 e “País De Passagens” em 2020, “Feriado Prolongado” nasceu de performances ao vivo utilizando synths e baterias eletrônicas, e por ter sido testado e aperfeiçoado na estrada, possui um acabamento único e arredondado. A estrada que moldou este trabalho também é o tema desta trilogia, que tem seu ponto final com este capítulo onde Jacques volta para casa depois de uma longa (e estranha) viagem por estas terras.
