Onto the information about how I did it:

First off, the word hash is a reference to the method I used to create the synth sounds. Hash = minced meat. I basically "minced" a lot of different formanty sounds and stuck them together(it's more complicated than this). It's also a play on the 'acid' genre which has similar sounds, but I'm using a very different technique to elicit similar sounds associated with acid, so i've decided to call it 'hash'. I'm clearing this up because I keep getting messages about people talking about their recent fun with 'hash' but i've had enough of that :)

I got to use a modular setup for the first time. Spent many hours on the thing and came back with tons of samples some of which I've microedited and such later in my DAW. I'd say about 70-80% of the sounds are sampled from the synth.

Reason I did this was to separate making sounds and sequencing them as it's easy to get bogged down continuing to make sounds.

 Toward the end I used his disklavier :)) I wrote the midi for a vst initially, but then used it on a real piano, sampled it, then edited it afterward. For some reason on his old one you get a stringy kinda sound that appealed to me when you arppegiate.

Modular Hash

When you kill an NPC, all the music stops in that room. The others look at you like they look at the abominations.

It's possible to become the strongest being in this game, you can become strong enough to one shot every boss. The problem is that you'll never get past that barrier playing normally: you cannot hunt abominations, they hunt you. If you got EXP elsewhere... maybe... you'd be able to turn the tables. Elsewhere... like the NPCs.

Killing three NPCs triggers this dialogue with The Shop Man and this track when you see him next:

"When you kill a person once, that might be an accident. When you kill two people, that's a problem. When you kill three, that's where I draw the line in the sand and say this: if you keep doing that, you're gonna end up worse off than one of L.O.R.D's victims, aight? Quit it."

He doubles his prices.

The Zero Path has begun. You begin hunting NPCs for EXP, they run from the sight of you, but you're faster than them. They won't escape. They drop their life savings, you can afford items again and The Shop Keeper, knowing you're the only one who can possibly defeat L.O.R.D, and with heaps of money presented to him, begrudgingly grants you the items for a pay and triples the original price.

You've slaughtered towns worth of people. You can one shot the abominations now. At first, they behave like normal, dying in one hit when doing so, but... eventually, they start to run too. They run from you, and you chase them down and destroy them, dishing out all the pain and suffering onto them that they once dished out onto you. Your weapons are awful. You kill more NPCs for more of their savings, you're growing bigger and taller from the strength, and you stomp into The Shop Man's store with pockets fat with loot. He throws an insane price at you: 500,000 silvers for the arming sword. You slam a giant bag onto the table, 500k and another 50k for the tip, you don't care. He takes it. You take the arming sword, or any other item you choose to buy.

The cycle repeats itself.

The cycle repeats itself.

The cycle... won't end until you become the strongest.
