Hash is minced meat, and refers to the minced textures glued together and is a bit of a parody of the 'acid' genre ;)

Onto the information about how I did it:

First off, the word hash is a reference to the method I used to create the synth sounds. Hash = minced meat. I basically "minced" a lot of different formanty sounds and stuck them together(it's more complicated than this). It's also a play on the 'acid' genre which has similar sounds, but I'm using a very different technique to elicit similar sounds associated with acid, so i've decided to call it 'hash'. I'm clearing this up because I keep getting messages about people talking about their recent fun with 'hash' but i've had enough of that :)

I got to use a modular setup for the first time. Spent many hours on the thing and came back with tons of samples some of which I've microedited and such later in my DAW. I'd say about 70-80% of the sounds are sampled from the synth.

Reason I did this was to separate making sounds and sequencing them as it's easy to get bogged down continuing to make sounds.

 Toward the end I used his disklavier :)) I wrote the midi for a vst initially, but then used it on a real piano, sampled it, then edited it afterward. For some reason on his old one you get a stringy kinda sound that appealed to me when you arppegiate.
