Adrian kicked off the report sharing his excitement about the release this Friday (January 22, 2016) from Pastor William McDowell entitled "Sounds Of Revival".

Adrian attempted to get us caught up on the other side of holiday hiatus by sharing with us some recently released projects. Duawne Starling, the quintessential background singing, backing artists like Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin, Cece Winans and more throughout the '90s, released another solo project, "Deeper Faith" on December 4, 2015. 

Catering to Philly's high rap index, the rap artist Big Fil released "I'm Just Being Me" released last Friday (January 15, 2016). Another record released last Friday, January 15 a church choir out of Dallas, TX, Dr. Karry D. Wesley presents the Antioch Fellowship Church Voices of Praise which features leads by Earnest Pugh, Tommye Young West and Beverly Crawford. 

Livre, a young group out of New York released a contemporary single "Jericho". Another contemporary artists Jor'dan Armstrong releases a record this winter entitled "Confidence". 

Adrian also mentioned that among some re-issued gospel music is "Saints In Praise" (West Angeles COGIC) which revolutionized Praise & Worship in the black church.  Calvin Bernard Rhone & Friends has new project on the digital landscape (Hold On!) which is true to the sound of Calvin Bernard Rhone. 

We were told to be on the look out for "Saints And Sinners" which is new original TV programming featured on the Bounce TV Network and features Clifton Davis, Vanessa Bell Callaway and Richard Lawson and others, and launches March 6, 2016. 

The report wrapped with the anticipation of big records expected next week including J. Moss and Wow Gospel!

#GENMTER Gospel Encyclopedia New Music Tuesday Entertainment Report w/ @MrAwarren - 2016-01-19

Adrian started the report today with commentary back-sell on "My Grace" by the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship Super Mass Choir feat. Benita Washington.

He moved to the recent airing of "Celebration Of Gospel" and some of the singles/videos that have spawned from that show. Heavenly Joy (daughter of Rodney Jerkins and christian artist Joy Enriquez) has released her live #WAR video which is gaining lots of views alongside the great reviews of the accompanying single on iTunes. Shirley Caesar is also making waves with her latest photo and single release, "It's Alright, It's OK". Tamela Mann's "One Way" was released as a radio single as well while they embark on a new TV show.

The McDonald Sisters released their latest project entitled "Sisters United" on Friday, January 29, 2016. 

Cory Barksdale, a young man out of Chicago, who has been featured on Jonathan McReynolds project has released his new EP and was featured during Celebration of Gospel weekend. 

Adrian mentioned the Essence "20 Artists to Watch" list and expressed his surprise at Gerald Jones (DA Gospel Truth) choosing of brand new young artists like Travis Malloy and  Keyondra Lockett.  What's good is that Essence follows his lead,  possibly affording them performance opportunities.  

A few recent and up and coming single releases include Charles Butler & Trinity , "Make It", (pre-order on Friday, February 5, 2016), Grace Covenant Worship with "You Are God" (January 29, 2016) and Syreeta Thompson, (@TheTrumpetLady) "Change Is On The Way" (Now available). 

Big weekend coming up for gospel (February 5-6) with Super Bowl Gospel in Oakland, CA.  We're going to be talking about big gospel events throughout the month because coming up are the Stellar Gospel Music Awards, the Gospel Heritage Conference, the NAACP Image Awards and the Grammy Awards.

Adrian started the report about a lot of events going on this seasons music events such as the All-Star Weekend, Grammy weekend, GMWA Board Meeting, Stellar Award Weekend and the Heritage Music Conference. 

Adrian reminded us about a upcoming Bounce TV program "Saints & Sinners" and the theme song is sung by Kelly Price entitled "Everytime (Grateful)" which was made available this week for .69 on the Apple platform. 

Tiff Joy also released a new single "Oh How We Love You" during love weekend and ready for Stellar Weekend. 

Bishop Larry Trotter releases his 10th CD with the Sweet Holy Spirit Mass Choir entitled "How Far Back Can You Go" which is a compilation of church songs to release on Friday, February 19, 2016. 

Tyscot has released a compilation CD entitled "God Cares" which is music derived from their old and current catalog. 

Dr. Mark Williams, an independent artist from Nashville, TN has a released his single entitled "My Life, My Love, My Friend" which is a free download from his website (DrMarkWilliams.com). The single is taken from his forthcoming full project "When A Man Worships". Dr. Mark Williams is a "Voice" doctor. 

Hip Hop artist Mr. Del turned his life around and is now a pastor and released a book and has a powerful testimony about coming out of one lifestyle to another. 

Virute is releasing their new project soon. 

Jonathan McReynolds released his new live video, "The Way You Love Me". 

Demetria Stallings released "Letters Of My Heart" which is a nice worship record. DemetriaStallings.com

Adrian kicked off the report telling us about some independent records now available. The first was an artist named Dasha Moore with a project entitled "My Heart's Worship Exposed". The freshness of the next group Casey & Erica impresses Adrian with a sound comparable to Ted & Sheri. Their record is entitled "Better". 

Adrian mentioned a few things going in industry including a movie / independent release in March entitled "God Can" which is about five women from different races and backgrounds who attended college together and remained connected throughout the years and faced tragedies in the movie and come together in the power and sisterhood. The lead single is called "This Is Not My Home" who features Will Champion who was on Season 5 of the "The Voice". He mentioned voting in the Rhythm Of Gospel Awards recognizes great independent projects that may not meet the Stellar Gospel Music Award criteria. 

Announced today was the VIP (Victory In Praise) 2016 this summer tour which includes names like Chrystal Rucker, Zebulon Ellis, Joe Douglass, San Franklin and a host of others. 

They've also announced the dates for the 2017 Stellar Gospel Music Awards in Las Vegas which during the last week in March. 

Adrian mentioned Jackie Patillo has great history in the gospel music industry who now serves as the head of the Gospel Music Association and has announced a brand new program called Immerse which attempts to mentor the next generation to be held in late Jun 2016. Mentors include Laura Daigle, Seth Mosley (CCM producer), Vashawn Mitchell. Although the Doves have always included "Full Gospel" categories, Adrian  believes Jackie Patillo has done a great job in recent years of unifying various organizations by bringing diversity to the Gospel Music Association.  

In closing, Adrian mentioned that DC gospel music radio legend Jacquie Gales Webb has donated her radio archives to Indiana University for their African American Music & Culture Repository which is a major achievement.  Read all about that and more at http://TheGospelSource.com!
