Rewind Ltd has done it again with the album Saturday Vibes, a young talent who brings a fresh perspective to the world of electronic music. The album is a true testament to the multifaceted nature of distinctive Siberian electronic music, showing its transformation and history. It is obvious that pop culture has had a significant influence on electronic music, and vice versa, as the Saturday Vibes album seamlessly blends classic house and house from the 2000s.

We were already big fans of his music and his globe-trotting gigs when we got to shake hands with this good man. But getting to meet the person Nico Simone behind the revered artist Nickodemus, only increased our admiration and respect for him. He is not only an outstanding DJ and a very accomplished producer of global beats, but most importantly he is a compassionate, beautiful, peace-loving human being who understands the power of music to spread love and break borders. His worldwide touring schedule (managed by himself) is dazzling, millions of miles travelled across the world on a noble mission to spread positive vibes and unite peoples through the transforming power of music. One Nation Under a Groove, you know. So it is with great pride and excitement that we present today a very special Curtis Radio episode, introducing 10 important songs that Nico keeps close to his heart. Identify w/ Tom Walsh - 09.11.23

A preeminent artist of Chicago’s 3rd wave, @AndrewEmil has been a respected fixture and familiar face in its vibrant and diverse music scene for over two decades. A concert-trained percussionist since age 11, Emil earned a chair in his native Kansas City Symphony but eventually moved to Chicago in the late nineties. As a traditional musician, he has worked as a keyboardist, arranger, and orchestrator on hundreds of recording sessions and productions.

Cutting his teeth at the former Chicago Trax Recording Studios,  he crafted a reputation for House Music productions in Chicago under his own name, as well as Broadway & Wilson, and Uptown Tones. Emil's composition and studio productions range from concert works, sound design, and film scores to hundreds of releases of electronic music productions spanning over seventy international music labels.

2012 saw the emergence of his epithet, Change Request, with the Change Theory EP on four play music. This new persona allowed the freedom to explore hybrids of mid-tempo live instrument-focused jazz-dance-fusion.

This mix from Andrew Emil / Change Request has a decided preponderance of his own recent productions. Showcasing his wide musical dialect, sonic palette, and groove leanings, this set illustrates Emil’s aptitude for creating original music productions, useful edits, and masterful rewrites/covers—or what he refers to as “Change Request ReVisions." He even bookends this with two ambient abstract pieces of musical noir.

Owen Marmorek is a Vancouver-based sound technician, DJ, engineer/producer, lighting/video designer, promoter and Deadhead.

Since 2012, he has played in BC’s underground rave and Burning Man scenes. Owen plays a variety of sounds, with an emphasis on jazzy deep house, desert tech, and classic edits.
