Sixty-Eight Languages

Hi everyone, introduce you to the Extract series: music created during my live preformances. 

When performing Live I have a strong component of improvisation and control over midi sequencing, which leads to moments created spontaniously on stage that won't be replicable. Extract 01 corresponds to 5 minutes of my performance at Jardim Sonoro festival (2023), and to my interpretation this recording has a story to tell and lives by itself. Being also a DJ, the aim of the Extract series will be presenting music that can be played by DJ's, and I decided to release Extract 01 after playing it regularly (and naturally) on my sets. 

This is a vinyl only release (10") limited to 60 copies.

Maccari is an artist from São Paulo who embodies the strength of his roots in his sound design and drum patterns. Forget the most common synthesis patterns, with well-defined breaks, build up and drops: when listening to the sound of Maccari, you receive continuous successions of dynamics and high-pressure timbres. That's probably why his productions have garnered supports with the likes of James Ruskin, Rene Wise, Richie Hawtin, Truncate and many others.

Their light, a whisper from afar, a tale of ages flown.
You gaze into the endless dark, where distance mocks your ken,
And feel the stardust in your veins, the golden spark within.

A sudden swell, a drum's deep beat, does pierce the tranquil night,
Awaken from the timeless trance, bathed in celestial light.
The seasons shift, the cycles turn, a tapestry unfurled,
And with a startling clarity, you know you are the world.

The firstborn blush of summer's dawn, it chases stars away,
And with renewed and purpose strong, you rise to greet the day.
The beckoning pulse, the sacred drum, a rhythm in your soul,
To reunite with kin and friends, at destiny's true goal.

To Stonehenge, hallowed monument, where ancient spirits dwell,
You journey on, with joyful heart, a tale of stars to tell.

May fortune guide your travels too, dear sisters and dear brothers,
As we all dance beneath the sun, and celebrate with others!

This tenth podcast of the Elata Series features mchvlsm, a Brazilian artist based in Berlin.

As an immersion in a captivating forest, mchvlsm captures the essence of tribalism with fast paced bass lines and a feral atmosphere. A journey through his productions offers the audience a complete experience of ritualistic techno. A music that takes root in the nature that surrounds him, full of elements but stays true to minimalist but sharp rhythms.
With releases on MZRRecords, SYXT, Evil Groove or AUM Records, mchvlsm proved his unique style.

We contacted mchvlsm after listening to his EP on MalaNoche. The quality of the release, the style of production and the energy behind these tracks were completely in line with our definition of techno. We then been able to discover more of his work and were extremely happy to meet him, and it confirmed that his vision was incredible.
His music is completely part of what we define as Elata vibe, and we are really honoured to host his first podcast. This 90 min podcast is a blend of energy and style, and also the chance to discover more of his work.

Keep his name in mind, more will come.

A mysterious and deep sound producer is forming in the dark and cold nights of Pereira, Colombia. Gotshell a.k.a Alessan Main is the great ambassador of the Colombia electronic music scene. Inspired by the first wave of old school techno, mixing the advanced sound of the genre and expanding deeper into even more electronic and instrumental music styles like IDM, ambient, experimental, dub, just to name some examples.
