Psychedelic Trance Mix - Psytrance Bangers April 2024

Some beautiful melodic psytrance was released this last month. Ritmo/Asgard absolute destroying it out of the gate with Dunes. Shamanic Tales are always onto quality premium output and July 2024 has been no exception. My personal favourite tracks this month were Avalon/Flegma with 'Tribal Ritual', for its incredible tribal vocal, driving bass, and call to arms from the late Goa Gil about how to celebrate with the act of trance dancing. Another killer track was Eleusyn with Gliese - LT Version. Cascading melodic arpeggios that just relax my ear so much. I get the euphoric effects of legends like Astral Projection or Etnica and for me that is a huge thing!

Hey fellow Hackers superfans,

I wanted to share something special with you all before it officially drops. I’ve loved this film ever since I first saw it in the late 90s. It was one of the first DVDs we ever bought. The soundtrack, the fashion, the neon-cyber vibes. It stuck with me so much that I always dreamed of having my own crew of misfit futuristic pals to nerd out with.

It’s one of those movies I keep coming back to every few years. On my latest rewatch, I realised the 30th anniversary was around the corner, and thought: what better time to make a tribute? Hackers made me nostalgic for a past I was a bit too young to be part of (I was only 7 when it came out), and hungry for a future that never quite arrived.I’m a metal musician and psytrance producer, and I’ve put together a 90s-inspired Goa trance track called “Hack the Planet” — my love letter to Dade, Kate, Cereal Killer, and the whole crew.
