Here's one of the set I've played at Goulash Disko 2023, for the 10th anniversary of the festival. 

I wanted to do something different for this set and it ended up focusing on psy techno and mental bass, with some afro tech and global bass near the end, and an epic loving finish :)

From time to time something takes you by surprise. In this case it was a coincidental email which landed amidst the chaos at just the right time.

 Fourmï Rouz originates from the island of Mauritius, a place which you might not usually associate with electronic music in a stereotypical sense. In some ways you might be accurate in this view, however, that certainly doesn't mean that there aren't artists intertwining local influences and electronic sounds. This mix is a representation of the diversity which exists amongst electronic music culture as Fourmï Rouz blends traditional elements alongside a forward thinking fusion of blends.

Obsessive-compulsive digger and turntable rocker,  Dr. Smeđi Šećer is known for covering a wide spectrum of music from all over the World and beyond. In his thoroughly eclectic freestyle presentations of hard syncopated organic rhythms the dancers are always up for a complete surprise as the party can go in any direction imaginable. Be it psychedelic oriental belly dance music, Yugoslavian disco or heavily distorted garage rock, it all fits with koto drum solos from the far east, hard salsa and jazz-funk records sounding like they were pressed on another planet. As a rare expert for ex-Yugoslavian music, he also performs the notorious all vinyl YUGOĐUS sonic journey all over the Balkan region making people burn the soles right off their shoes. He lives in Rijeka, has a thick beard and makes beautiful babies.

@montoyamusic is a colombian violinist and composer. Since 2001 he lives in Italy
His sound research led him to combine electronic experimentation with classical structures.After the albums ‘El viaje’ and ‘Mohs’ (edited by Fábrica), his turning point arrived with ‘IWA’, a record produced by italian label White Forest Records. That new music path reflects the soul of this artist, who’s able to bring the essence of the mountains of the Andes to Europe and at the same time, to reunite the popular and tribal tradition, mixing carefully his culture with the european tradition. 
His music is a fusion of contrasts and refined new combinations, full of wet colors derived from the Latin American culture and mingle with Western rationalism. The short-circuit becomes more evident by the careful selection of electronic sounds and melodies in a constant clash of rhythms and traditions. The particular texture that gives the violin adds to a rich soundscape tribal chants that come from the heart of the jungle.

Producer, Luthier and Co-Founder of Shika Shika Collective, Barrio Lindo is a well known name in the Southamerican new wave, and his work is an encounter between southamerican traditional music and downtempo electronics full of organic sound, traditional instruments and colorful soundscapes. Originally concealed in the credits of the record covers under the heading "composition and production", Guts secured his fame as a beatmaker by trimming the soundtrack of Alliance Ethnik, Big Red or the Svinkels. In solo since 2007 and his album "Le Bienheureux"(Was On Records), he then expanded his musical palette with "Freedom", a darker but also more released record released on his own label Pura Vida. Exiled in Ibiza, it is from his Balearic Island that he will publish in 2011 "Paradise For All", on the label which is still to this day, Heavenly Sweetness. Since 2013, he has concocted with his accomplice Mambo, the cult compilations Beach Diggin', dedicated to the discovery of rare and sunny galettes.

Originally recorded in rural Colombia by @Biomigrant in a visit to the community project led by maestero, Máximo Yanez, ‘Ay Que Talento’ was conceived as a motivational song for the local youth. After getting shipped to Los Angeles for a collaboration with the producer @MORILLOmusic, the song goes back to South America for a remix by Chilean producer, @AndiAndean, in a blend of tribal, house and bass music.

The song is a premiere from  @Outtallectuals’ "𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧" compilation, featuring 14 remixes from the Outtallectuals discography by many new & OG contributors.

Producer, Luthier and Co-Founder of Shika Shika Collective, Barrio Lindo is a well know name in the Southamerican new wave, and his work is an encounter between southamerican traditional music and downtempo electronics full of organic sound, traditional instruments and colorful soundscapes. Victor Kiswell is a man of many facets, each one deeply rooted in a fervent passion for music and vinyl. From a young age he was immersed in sounds from across the musical spectrum, in turn igniting a love for records, and inspiring an enduring voyage of discovery for forgotten treasures. Although a title we’re sure he wouldn’t want bestowed upon him, you could call Victor a “digger’s digger”, as he provides records to people such as Gilles Peterson, Madlib, Q-Tip or Cut Chemist...A man always willing to go that little bit deeper than the rest.

Electricity buzzes through the soils beneath our feet. The currents are buzzing, zapping, beeping, purring. Japanese DJ Ground, harnesses this natural power to pour onto us as a silky, shimmering stream of energizing nourishment. His creations were awakened in 2004 within the oasis of ChillMountain Hutte, an art community and production in the wilderness of the city of Osaka. Ground sees and hears the invisible life forms that exist in the spaces between mountains and city, across the centuries, and through cultures - capturing them and transforming them into curious sounds for us all.

Bwoy de Bhajan - Live set at Goulash Disko Festival 2018

The hum and buzz of summer permeates Bwoy de Bhajan’s streams of challenging but pleasant sounds. The promising producer has a penchant for World Music, but at the same time clearly influenced by Western electronica of the more experimental kind. Despite the drowsy groove of the music, this music has plenty of delicate touches, edgy beats, wonky bass lines and Eastern mystique to get lost in. He is only 20 years of age, but has already sent many crowds into deep hypnosis, and shared the stage with artists varying from Tokimonsta and Daedelus, to Omar Souleyman, Spoek Mathambo or Madlib. He was a nominee for 'Hope of the Year' at last years Steppeulven (Critics) Awards in Denmark.

Lucas Croon lives and works as a freelance musician, DJ, producer and film composer in Düsseldorf. Besides his sought-after releases on Themes For Great Cities, Aiwo and Malka Tuti, Lucas is known for the band projects BAR (Band am Rhein) and Stabil Elite. Inspired by different styles of dance music - from Krautrock to electronic music from Düsseldorf - his „no-laptop“ live sets create a balance between heavy, dubby beats, floating disco and shimmering breakbeats.

Our (not)Goulash Disko mixtape is online NOW!!!  Inevitably there was no Goulash Disko festival this year, but as we were still allowed to travel to that gorgeous island a small group of us gathered on Kamenice Beach (in a safe manor), and felt extremely lucky and grateful to be able to play music and share in a very special vibe!

Upon return my animal friends Feline and Munki helped me try to recreate that vibe for all to hear.  Big shouts to the Stonefish massive, and big love to all the Goulash family both missed and present!  <3
