Yet another ambient piece. Submarine atmosphere —maybe inspired by Das Boot, for those who know.

Inward

Another atmospheric piece. 

A little backstory: late at night, after a party with friends, I went back home and recorded this piece in one go. I picked 4 sounds from a selection I had previously prepared (I had adjusted LFO, attack/decay/sustain/release, filters, etc on sound samples), plugged the keyboard and played the first layer. After 10 minutes, I let the last note die, rewinded, and played another layer on top of the first one, then two more times.

If you pay attention, you may even notice that I more or less fell asleep on the keyboard near the end!

Just a little jingle I had prepared. I now regret not having taken it further, I quite like how it starts out!

Spiritual bit

I grew up listening to trip-hop, so I had to try my hand at it.

My speaker setup wasn't ideal at the time, the bass level is quite high. Don't play this too loud or your boomers might crack!

Krushed

Another try at trip-hop. Quite happy about the beat and the atmosphere on this one. 

Did I mention that I am completely self-taught? Even the music production software (Cubase), it was sold to me along with the Atari and I had to learn it all on my own.

Shufflin'

Nervous little piece. I used to listen to early Drum'n bass (remember this was composed around 1999) so I wanted to try. I think I had just discovered how to use a compressor, and I took the plunge on this one. I like how it introduces the bass drop.

Lying cold

Longish piece, centered around a sanza sample (as the name suggests).

Sanza Groove

The track I'm proudest of. Heavily inspired by Jean-Michel Jarre's album Equinoxe (as you may have guessed from the track title). A little heavy on the bass though, I was using bad headphones during mixing.

Backstory:  my father loved this album, and played the vinyl every time he was in the mood for painting. To this day I cannot listen to it without thinking about my father. 
Also, this was recorded in the year 2000 and it's the only recording of this track, because after I live-mixed it the floppy disk it was on had a failure and I could never recover the source files.
