So that was the final night at the Paradise Farage. Sadly the club has had to be closed down, demolished and the site turned into a giant lorry park as a result of Brexit. For our last show, we travelled to Ray Mang's studio and streamed live from deepest East London with Mr Mang himself, a Leftside Wobble guest mix and me. A carnival-inspired oasis of love & dancing set in the beautiful countryside just a heartbeat outside of London, Campo Sancho is a small but perfectly formed family-friendly music & arts festival. Independently organised and thoughtfully curated the festival was created by Sancho Panza based on years of experience throwing basement jams, warehouse parties, boat parties and legendary Carnival street parties.

Dicky has been playing for Sancho Panza for many years now on boats and at Campo Sancho. He is a big fan of the community vibe that over 25 years of togetherness have constructed at the heart of everything that they do.

So welcome to his Campo Sancho 2022 Mix, a mix of sounds in celebration of this year’s event. Just under 2 hours of only the good stuff for your ears.

Bem-vindo to another journey into Brazilian music. 

I: have done a few mixes of Brazilian beats and sounds now for Gouranga over the years. This one I have chosen to call the Bem Gelada Mix. This phrase is what you say in Brazil when you want to make sure the beer you are going to drink is super cold. And of course it must always be bem gelada as they don’t drink it any other way!

Many Brazilian people face massive challenges every single day, however I strongly believe that still they know how to enjoy their lives more than in any other place in the world I have ever been. They know how to live a good life whatever their circumstances. A boa vida. And that is often because of the small things that make life good, like making sure your beer is bem gelada, that you are always a good friend and surround yourself with good people, that you dance whenever you can and enjoy good music, and of course go to the praia whenever is possible.

So I hope you enjoy the songs I have chosen. Not so much a mix as a blend of wonderful music as I dig deeper into the music of this marvellous country.

I had planned to post this in the New Year as this first instalment of Dub Disco Deli (recorded in 2008) has never been on SoundCloud, but I decided to upload it today in memory of Terry Hall. His music didn't just awaken me musically, it ignited my political awareness and educated me about the importance of social justice in a manner that was far more tangible than anything I learnt in the classroom. RIP Terry, your spirit lives on. x

With a superb new modern Brazilian Disco EP out on the excellent @fileunderdisco which has garnered remixes from heavy hitters JKriv, Dicky Trisco and Joutro Mundo and has seen some huge DJ support we thought that it was high time that we got to know @Processman a little better.

Having checked out his Soundcloud we quickly realised that as well as being a talented producer that he is also seriously  brilliant DJ so we asked him to step up to the LV decks which he has done in spectacular fashion mixing up a fusion of disco, boogie and house with a serious Latin Flare.
