Beginning in from the universal sound source of the Om, this piece moves from the mechanical and sensual essence of modern life and society through the ebb and flow of becoming more and more aware of both the intense love and suffering of this world (represented by the movement of the strings) into an infinite space within, full of darkness but pulsing with beams of photons bringing one beyond space and time to the eternal sound of Om...

...awakening into an intricate hyperspace of Satori, we travel through the nexus of the Void upon the wings of a flute to find the realization that there is no realization and that It is beyond all things for: all is and all is not...

Floating back through inner/outer space and reawakening into this realm of Samsara and cyclical existence, the lessons of the Infinite are at first forgotten but then remembered again, creating a complete Self that is represented through the harmonic alignment of the strings and the flute, respectively symbolizing fear and love, darkness and light, the human experience and the buddha, the finite and the infinite...

I consider this to be the heart of the La Ceremonia series. This music is Medicine from the Earth for her children. She loves us dearly but we need to make changes in our souls, changes in our perspective, changes in our lives and changes in our hearts. All of these songs are tuned to 444hz to align with and transform our DNA, the physical coding of our realities. Our physical, psychological and spiritual beings are all interrelated. Just as a change in our spiritual being can alter the DNA of our physical being, so can a change in our DNA alter our spiritual being. We are entering a new era, the way that we perceive and interact with our reality is changing. We have the opportunity to take humanity to a new heightened awareness. This all starts in ourselves. Earlier this year Desert Dwellers released their most diverse album in the duo's long career. The Great Mystery was the first full length collaborative project between the main founders Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, and featured a wide range of styles and aesthetics from downtempo and psychedelic dub to tribal trance to exotic house and techno flavors.

To celebrate the special release, Desert Dwellers have curated an ambitious two-part remix album full of contributions from some of the brightest luminaries and rising talents across the underground electronic music landscape. The Great Mystery Remixes Part 1 is slated for a September 21st release, and features sonic reinterpretations from Gaudi, Liquid Stranger, Hibernation, An-ten-nae, Kaminanda, AtYya, Tribone, Twin Shape, Land Switcher, Drumspyder, and Govinda. The second part will be released in late October with contributions from Emancipator, Whitebear, Sixis, Mystral, Supersillyus, Halfred, Master Minded, and many others. Chicago-based chillout producer, Edamame, delivers his 14-track album, Bask on Gravitas Recordings. The project is a balmy breeze, warping through feelings of absolute bliss and unadulterated serenity. While the compositions embrace an ambient motif, expressive percussion and graceful melodies weave energy throughout. Fans of CloZee, Bonobo, and Random Rab will resonate with this release.

Setting the tone for the album, “Kishi Kaisei” blends angelic vocals with vivid drums. On “Sable,” Edamame and his Loci Records cohort Tor construct a dreamlike state through atmospheric and hypnotic sounds. The title track “Bask” tides in and out with a soothing bassline, feathered synths, and subtle vocals. “Passim”, which features the illustrious Emancipator, romances the ear drums by way of steelpan, sitar, and rolling percussion that culminates into a sensual outro.

Govinda is the alter-ego of Austin based producer/composer Shane Madden. He began studying violin and composition at the age of eight and went on to study classical violin at the University of Texas where he fell in love with electronic music production. It was in Madden’s pursuit of his gypsy roots that he opened his ears to music from around the world. From experiences learning violin with mysterious masters on his journeys across the globe and his passion for modern design and technology, the current sound of Govinda was born.
