Aariyana is an up-and-coming Canadian songwriter with Indian and African roots. She has been playing guitar and writing songs since she was a child and has now taken the next step in her career releasing her own music, and pitching her first song for sync placements. She recently performed with Sarah McLachlan at her annual fundraiser, was invited to showcase at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Gala, and was part of the headlining performance at Vancouver’s TedEd conference. "Tera Swag" or "Your Swag" or "Your Vibe" is about the first moment when you see the love of your life. In that first glance you see more than just the exterior of the person, but the interior. The dreams, the goals, the trials and tribulations. The total history of that person is conveyed in the energy you feel during that first encounter. Before anything is actually said. In this case, I see a Queen.

Myself and ishQ tried to encompass this moment in the song, not only with the lyrics but with the instrumentation as well. The song goes straight to the 'drop' an unconventional layout for a love song. The purpose of this is to simulate the instant rush of your heart pounding, before it calms and your brain takes over.

The short length of the song is deliberate as well, to convey how many emotions, thoughts, and feelings can be created when two energies come together, in literally a moment.

I was able to debut this song at a beautfiul Fusion wedding in Vancouver at the end of last year, and the result is the stunning visual you see here.

I absolutely love Dance Monkey, but for my DJs who do Indian weddings, you might have noticed it doesn't quite hit hard enough to keep the dancefloor going. So I decided to mash it up with a song that literally changed my entire music career, and still hits hard almost 20 years later. I don't say it lightly, "Dance with You" and future projects from Jay Sean, Juggy D, and Rishi Rich, literally changed my life. I'd never seen South Asians reflected in mainstream music, and representation is so important for inspiration. The track opened up a new world of music for me, and started my train in the "Desi Urban" genre. It was a blessing to tour with Juggy D later in my career across Canada.
