Knowledge Imprint is proud to welcome another young talent to the roster. Hailing from the UK, FLAWS is fairly new to the scene, but he has already begun cementing himself with a clear vision, purpose and artistic integrity. His passion for music is evident not only through his own productions and DJ sets, but also through his labels that he runs with his likeminded counterparts. 

‘Cosmology’ introduces the EP with dubby textures, dark moods and a chugging rhythm that carries the listener through shades of loopy techno. Subtle percussive shifts are synchronised with a repeating bass stab that gives the track a sense of galloping, forward movement. ‘Principle’ on the other hand is a lesson in restraint. A simple loop comprising of a kick drum and melodic digital percussion repeats throughout, whilst a running white noise hi-hat provides rhythmic diversity in the arrangement. Elegant and minimalistic, the track encourages introspection but could be equally functional for dancefloor moments. 

‘Code’ employs slower tempos to drag you into its depths, this track evokes darker moods with somber pads ebbing and flowing throughout. Similarly, the track’s repetitive nature is countered with hi-hats that spontaneously expand and contract. ‘Structure’ closes the EP with a sense of optimism and release. It’s punchy drums and rhythmic variations are layered with lush pads that sway in and out of an arpeggiated synth melody. 

‘The true art of living in harmony with the earth, fellow humans and the universe is an idea that should be observed with delicate attention. We could have a chance to broaden our nature to understand more clearly what reality consists of.’

The Stasis EP opens with “Cornor Galaxy”, the most atmospheric track on the roster, whose tension relies on sampled and chopped male vocals, bolstered by anxiety-inducing loops. 

"Space Catcher," on the other hand, embraces a warmer sound with its dub sequences, evoking a sense of nostalgia for the listener and offering a powerful tool for emotional twists during live performances. 

The title track, "Stasis," perfectly embodies Truxx's unique style and their exceptional production skills. It combines dynamic, bleeping techno with subtle layers of groove. 

To conclude the EP, we are treated to a remix of "Stasis" by the incredibly talented Casual Treatment. This remix masterfully preserves the core and character of the original version while injecting additional power through percussive rhythmic elements.

Not everyone can reverse entropy. And yet, when Cosmic Anomaly takes on the challenge, he can still reveal a wilderness in the beauty of order.

The motivation behind Garden Of Uncertainty was to coach noise, and thus, as he tells us, 4 of the 5 tracks enclosed don't use any synthesizer as a "melodic" source, but rather sounds that have been transmuted until they became what we are hearing now. An ambition to tap into chaos and return it reorganised, and fleshed out into a myriad of sonic possibilities.

We have no option but to believe him, within these 5 tracks we encounter rich, brooding worlds and are reminded of his vast inner being. His feelings of uncertainty plastered into breathing noise, every one of life’s challenges converted by catharsis.

“All this takes shape at a time in my life when I was experiencing some turmoil [...] The remnant of the exercise of accepting uncertainty is the joy one learns to experience in the present moment”, we are told, as we listen to a collection of pieces that whilst remains Techno in form, explores the whole scope of possibilities within not only the genre, but also the rich tapestry of the world of sound.Not everyone can reverse entropy.
