Joe Miller is a gifted producer and an eccentric DJ from Australia with the innate ability to piece together fascinating sonic stories. With releases on All Day I Dream, Dream Culture, Nie Wieder Schalfen, just to name a few, there's no telling how far Joe can go with his talent. Although, he's already a superstar in our books. 

Bio: "Joe Miller is an English-born beat monger, influenced in equal measure by heaving clubs and the earthy melancholy of forests. He grew up in Australia, where he learned to craft sets that are whimsical and left-field, evoking a sense of place. 

Joe has released music on All Day I Dream and Dawn Till Dusk (with Jamie Stevens), Dream Culture, Magician on Duty, Nie Wieder Schlafen, Sag & Tre, and Traum Schallplatten. His tracks have been supported by Sasha, Guy J, Nick Warren, Mira, and Atish. 

As well as playing headline sets in Miami, New York, Saigon and Tokyo, Joe has crafted studio mixes for the Balance Series, Flow Sessions, DJ Mag, and Deeper Sounds (streaming on British Airways and Emirates flights). "

Movements Vol. XV: @joe-miller

For the fifteenth installment of our Movements series we are delighted to have Melbourne based producer Joe Miller step up to the tables. With releases on All Day I Dream, Dream Culture, L’enfant Terrible, Traum, and Manual Music, Miller has cultivated an ethereal and meditative sound that irrespective of mood upon entry, basks the listener in an angelic symphony which quickly departs terra firma to soar amongst the cirrus clouds. One need only look as far as Miller’s A side ‘A Sudden Taste of Redemption’ on his latest release with Dream Culture to wander in the contemplative wonderland of his imagination.

Aside from his talents in production, the set Miller has delivered is nothing short of stunning. Oft being adept in production does not necessarily translate to talent in the mix, but for Miller this could not be farther from the case. Here he has crafted a delicate and mesmerizing voyage, that sets off from Mazzy Star’s bonfire appropriate folk ballad ‘Into Dust' serenely lifting you up and up and away.

Today our Good Morning Guest Mix Series is travelling to the other side of the world, in Australia for the first time, for a healthy dose of mesmerising melodies and soft sounds from another incredible guest artist. With releases on some of our favourite imprints like All Day I Dream, Bespoke Musik, Magician On Duty, and Sag & Tre to name a few, Joe Miller is paving his way to greatness strep-by-step and we're seriously excited to be a small part of that journey.

Pinkshinyultrablast, Russia’s premiere shoegaze export, have shared their epic and ethereal new single ‘Songs’.

With vocalist Lyubov moving to LA, the band were deeply immersed in exploring new ways of composing and collaborating from a distance long before it was enforced.

They tells us that "this one is kind of an oddball. I think when we recorded ‘Songs’ we weren’t really sure what to do with this 15-minute-long beast, or if we will ever get a chance to release it. For some reason, this B-side feels especially dear to all of us. Possibly because it encapsulates a certain time of us existing together as a band, a very specific moment. We’ve been living in different cities for over four years now, and I think what I miss the most about us all being in the same place is the ability to regularly spend time together in the same room, practice, and run ideas by one another — just communicate and figure stuff out, side by side. I went to a Terry Riley show last December and he was playing with his grandson Gyan. They were sitting on the opposite sides of a really wide stage, pretty far apart from one another, separated by this giant concert grand - playing, pausing, improvising - and just kind of secretly smiling at each other from across the hall. When I think of the time we worked on this song, I think of those kinds of smiles, you know. It feels like hearing back a long conversation you’ve had with a dear friend a while back. Maybe you don’t agree with everything you’ve said back then, but then it doesn’t even really matter, because you know you were just able to truly relate." 

Pinkshinyultrablast have amassed critical praise across the board since the release of their debut album ‘Everything Else Matters’ and follow-ups ‘Grandfeathered’ in 2016 and ‘Miserable Miracles’ in 2018.

On ‘Songs’ they deliver waves upon waves of expansive guitars to form a truly massive fusion of psychedelia and ambience that flows beautifully, awash with blissful synths and their trademark celestial vocals.

A concept E.P of togetherness, influenced with a vast spread of multiculturalism and a story of invisible lines in the dirt. Influenced by the lands born on, my bloodline, the beautiful country that I was lucky enough to have had raise me and the different parts of the world my mother and father were raised. I want to give an intention and feeling of harmony, a symbiosis we need, and all want. 


In acknowledgement of the different areas of country I made these pieces of music, Awakabal, Bundjalung. I acknowledge the elders future, past and present. Gathering influence of indigenous cultures, I will not be profiting from this EP. Any profit made from this release will be donated to local indigenous communities and organisations. I hope you enjoy.
