In this special live episode we did the Walk (and talk) of Shame in front of a captivated audience at Body & Soul where The Irish Times took over the magical Wonderlust stage. Our guests were TD Brid Smith, abortion rights activist Lucy Watmough and comedian and podcaster Erin McGathy. Hosted by Kathy Sheridan the discussion centred around the myriad ways shame has been used to control women for centuries. Smith shared her abortion story publicly for the first time, Watmough talked about her journey from chaotic teen to sober activist and McGathy opened up about the way she was shamed after her marriage break-up. Thanks to all at Body & Soul for having us especially Kathy Scott and Fran Cosgrave. We'll be back!

Ep 126 The Walk (and talk) of Shame at Body & Soul

I stayed home on the June 10th after the passing of my cousin Orla. I sat at the piano thinking of her and this piano tune emerged. I played it every week since she died, sometimes it the only thing I play at all. It has developed and changed over those weeks. It began as a private eulogy but eulogies need to be heard so I want to share it. 

It's a simple recording in my living room, not particularly good quality. if anyone could help putting a better recording together it would be appreciated.

Graceless is the musical brainchild of Grace Tooher previously of Dublin band Staring at Lakes. Grace is collaborating closely with a talented ensemble of musicians to breathe life into her songs.
