This is a song that I wrote back in February 2000 when I was playing in a band called X-girlfriend... you can probably guess what most of the songs were about! I was going through a pile of old lyrics and thought that this one sounded pretty sweet on the acoustic. I might try and look out the original version for a comparison.

Another old Rusted Hero song that I've tried with one guitar - quite a tricky one to keep the rock feel so went with the electric guitar and tuned to DADGBD to help let those chords ring out the whole way through the song.

This was a song written while playing with Tagnutt back in early 00's - this one never quite got to see the light of day in terms of recording and I'm sure it was only played a handful of times at gigs.

See Your Face

This is a little piece I wrote as a backing track for a promo video for Jesus Christ Superstar - of course Sir Lloyd Webber doesn't like you using his music, so I created something with a bit of a hat-tilt towards the music from the show. It's loosely based around the guitar riff for Heaven on Their Minds but with the notes swapped and moved around

JCSS Track

This was a song written with Like a Wookie. I've always been very proud of the lyrics on this one - quite a different version to the one that we played in the band as I tended to be shouting and spitting the words.

This is a song I wrote in around 2002, I always liked the lyrics, but struggled around for years trying to write a suitable mid-section or bridge - but in playing it again years later, I think the song works well just as it is!

Nutshell - GTS V1.0

This is a song that I pieced together in a few days - I had come across an old set of lyrics that didn't have any music and I had a few little picking patterns that I'd written, but never used, so I put them together, had a go at the lyrics over the top a few times and recorded on my computer. Quite pleased with the way it turned out - I suppose this is my 2020 song, it's a bit down, a bit dark, but hopeful in it's own way.
