Sultan comes to hear his tune
Jumping out from behind a dune
expects to depart appeased

 slay him, say the sultan to his men
 
Break the curse he has cast upon me!

The chase ensues…..

Dead of Night
Torches bright
Sharpened spears
Time to start running the sultan he nears

The desert shakes
Shadhavar breaks
For the place 
The Sultan won’t find him, he cannot be seen

The men the move fast

Tips of the spears begin to surround

And at last 
 within their grasp
Nearing collapse
Spears into the air they are cast

Anthemic, chilled pop from UK artist Jen Stevens. 
Last single 'We Do It Right' hit #1 in the iTunes songwriter charts. 
Lyrics feature poetry written by Jen's late Mum, who passed away in 2012. Written as a conversation between mother and daughter. 
101 vocal tracks - all Jen, with piano, trumpet and synth also performed by the writer. 
I'll be working with charities to raise awareness of using music and writing as a means to cope with bereavement, with an extensive social media campaign.

I have been mistaken for looking like two celebrities - one is Pete Townsend (across a darkened club, from quite a distance), & the other is that of Kevin McCloud (the Channel 4 presenter blokey & designer/architectural guru from the programme, 'Grand Designs'). This is a brand new song, in it's early stages of mixing, & getting ready to appear on GGB's 2024 album, 'IT'S NICE TO BE NICHE'. Short & sweet, & heavy to the beat! I've tried to keep it as 'raw' as possible. It could change.

Some People Think I Look Like Kevin McCloud

Instrumental track, taken from my next GGB album, 'IT'S NICE TO BE NICHE' (release date: 13th Oct. 2024). A Spatial Oddity is one of those tunes that came about accidentally - just improvising on the piano, & then adding other keyboards & rhythmic parts. The title, apart from being a sly nod to David Bowie, is because there's an extra beat in there, which shouldn't have been (but somehow, it just works). There are various styles melded together, but then that's just me!

Loop The Loop is another track taken from the upcoming album, IT'S NICE TO BE NICHE (released Oct. 13th). Quite a laid-back song, that references both skate boarding & tranquillity (& why not?!).

Anyway, it will eventually appear on the next GGB album (which isn't due until 2026), so this is an early EXCLUSIVE! The song is about organising - I like organising things, otherwise everything becomes chaotic & I can't find anything. It's time to dance in a strange fashion!

Will Farr's Eclectic Mix Volume 4

In June 1969 a police raid on a gay bar in Greenwich Village exploded into a night of violent protest. What followed was a week of rioting with pitched battles between the New York gay community and riot police. It was a watershed in gay history which inspired a new militant phase in the gay rights movement. Forty years on, Tom Robinson asks why the word Stonewall still has such a powerful resonance for gay people around the world.

During the 1960s homosexuality was still classified as a mental illness in the US, with "sufferers" subject to frequent victimisation from the police and society at large. As a private members bar, the Stonewall offered a refuge of sorts where gay people were allowed to dance freely together. When police entered the bar shortly after midnight on a hot and humid Friday night in 1969, it exploded in unprecedented fashion.

Contributors include Seymour Pine, the policeman who led the raid; and Howard Smith, the journalist stuck inside when the crowd turned on the police and attempted to set fire to the Stonewall Inn. There are also eye-witness from the rioters themselves and we learn how the rallying in subsequent months led to a sea change in gay rights activism and the establishment of the annual Gay Pride parade to mark the riots.

Also featuring previously unheard archive interviews with late activists Craig Rodwell and Barbara Gittings. And we return to the Stonewall Inn, as it is today, to find out what resonance the word Stonewall has for the next generation of gay people. In 2009 has the battle been won?

Programme based around the 2010 book Stonewall: The Riots That Triggered the Gay Revolution by David Carter who acted as programme consultant for this radio documentary. Produced by Joby Waldman.

Tom Robinson kickstarted his own musical career with the notoriety of Glad To Be Gay and rounded it off twenty years later with an album cheerfully titled Having It Both Ways. He presented new music shows on BBC Radio 6 Music show for 23 years from 2002-2025.
