This is my all-time favourite Mac song.  I could leave it on repeat forever.  And lately the words have meant a lot more to me.  So here's a rough demo of my cover of it.  Eventually I'll do a proper cover with all the harmonies and everything like that.

A few years ago I had the idea of writing an album of songs that basically told the story of the original 1977 Star Wars film, like a concept album where someone else had already come up with the concept.

This is the first song I wrote for the project, and it's about my favourite character in the Star Wars saga.

Farm Boy (Demo)

I wrote this song for a friend of mine when his dad died suddenly.  I go back and forth between feeling okay about this tune and feeling like I'm being that guy that somehow doesn't get how devastating it was.  I like the song itself, but I'm afraid it sounds like I'm treating the situation with a levity that shouldn't be there.

I recorded this back in probably 2006 or so.  I'd wanted to do a really slow sort of emo version of "Hey Ya," so here it is.  Drums courtesy of my then-wife's Casio keyboard.  :)  It's not bad, actually...but it gets a little muddled there in the middle.  And I think it's a little low for me as far as register.

Wrote this last night while messing around on my guitar.  I could totally hear Feist singing along with it.  I haven't finished it yet.  I could hear maybe adding some drums and bass to it, but this may need to just remain guitar and voice.

My cover of the Red House Painters tune.  I found some cool old radio sounds to carry things along, as well as audio of my kids...hopefully they're not too distracting.

Recorded during Aperitivo, which is like happy hour.  You go to a bar and order a drink, and they bring you a bunch of food for free.  In this case, the place brought us a pizza and a plate of fries.  Excellent people-watching.
