[ΔKSHGF017] Nada - Médula

Someone very close to me turned me on to Arutani's The Mermaid Girl 3 years ago, which took me down a dark spiral of some of the most rich and beautiful music I've heard in my life. This is a chance to share some of the tracks that have moved me so much.

Dark, Organic Downtempo Mix

The year was 2004 and I had just finished producing Vancouver Rap Legend PDS akla The PMan's solo release "The Blinding Dark". 

For this track we took a verse done by well known West Coast rapper and Dogg Pound Member Kurupt in 2000 when he was brought to Vancouver with Nate Dogg to record at our studio for a song with Slick J. Slick J unfortunately did not live to see that song or his album released. 

In addition to Kurupt's work on this, The PMan brought in Scarborough Legend Bishop Brigante and Incredible VanCity Vocalist Narai Dawn.

ps. this set is not perfect, but its real. really beatmatched, really mixed. improvised and created in the moment. Apparently humanity still has some shreds of hope.
