For those that don't know, I also write acoustic singer/songwriter stuff as well. However I keep that under my own name and publish my hip hop stuff under Gramafone, just to kinda keep the two types of music seperate. I'm singing the hook here so that's why I'm featuring on my own track, haha.

The guitar solo was also something i wasnt really planning on originally. I was just kinda doodling around in the studio and found this really blue/jazzy tone I loved. The song already had a guitar in the background and Reks was a fan of the quick doodles I was playing, so we made that happen as well.

Echoing vocals with a radio EQ effect is definitely my go-to for filling space in a rap verse, haha

I really liked the sound of the guitar licks in between the vocal lines here. It gave the final hook a bit more umph and brought the end of the song to a slightly higher level.

"Gramafone" originally started as a side project for sing-songwriter Jake Bartolin; with the intent of playing with a combination of trap drums, jazz based instrumentation, and pop chord progressions. As the years moved on, the sound of "Gramafone" progressed towards a more rock/trap blended style, with sprinklings of the original Jazz/LoFi vibe being expressed to a lesser extent.

I'm the winter of 2020/2021, Jake officiall retired the "Gramafone" name, as the project had outlived its purpose and he didn't have time to comtinue supporting it. All songs and beats have remained listed here for posterity sake.
