Hell - Annabell

This is a song for anyone who has had to navigate grief or unexpected loss. 

While nearly every song I write has a least a trace of this, South of West is more pointedly about the disembodying, displacing state of actively walking through it, as well as the strange and ironic feelings of blame for events totally outside of our control. I wrote this song in the summer of 2020, but the distinct sense in that season was the short, dark days of winter.

When to listen: when you’re lost, when you’re locked out, on a run, in the shower, when you’re on a boat, in a cool car, on a depressing tube ride, on a happy bus ride, while cooking eggs in the morning, when at a boozy summer picnic, pouring your 3rd glass of rosé, when attempting any sort of gnar, when trying to impress a chirpse, when things aren’t quite going your way, when you miss your friends, when you can’t decide what to listen to, when the DJ looks like he takes requests (I’m serious about this one).
