Sojourn is a composition dedicated to my friend and flutist Vinicio Haro.  Sojourn focuses on the emotion of holding onto courage while facing uncertainty, especially when life tosses one about.  The Sojourn relates to the idea of  “home” being be somewhere we have or will inhibit in our lives.  Regardless we consider this to be our “home”,  these abodes represent the stages we find ourselves in life; that containing new-uncertain adventure and opportunity.  With each new place we call home,awaits a new journey.  As we move onto these new experiences, one wonders what they will eventually find themselves calling home.
