In celebration of Jenny Death dropping I decided to do a little fan project and phase the beginning of "Up My Sleeves."

Didn't quite turn out as smoothly as I'd like but still fun. The background noise in it added a cool layer too.

For my Music Technology class I recorded the sound of my door closing and then using Audacity arranged it into the rhythms from Steve Reich's Clapping music. This track was for educational purposes only.

Clapping Music

For my 20th Century Music History final project we had to perform a 20th Century piece. This is a work by composer La Monte Young called Death Chant. It was written for the funeral of his friends daughter. It starts with two notes (Da's) then adds a note and repeats until there are five notes and the whole process repeats. The end of each part is accented with a "percussive slap on the thigh"

Mike Moulton and I worked together on it. It is supposed to be repeated "many times or ad infintum" We shot for five minutes and ended up with about 4:45. It's tough to do for so long without rests.
