This one’s special. Same QuickServe philosophy: keep it tight at 1:45 and keep it tasty. Cosmic Phil slides in on a chill drum beat and bass line, then—boom—keys light up and start expanding. A haunting pad floats in with a little extra expression, and soon the arpeggiated digits start blurping like your brain reminding you it needs every piece of the equation. Then comes the equal sign—a wink that you’ve come and gone (and maybe practiced a little math along the way).

The QuickServe Pavilion in its first iteration depended on this track to get the cones spinning—hence the OG. It’s been with the app from the very beginning. I’m pretty sure I played parts on my actual computer keyboard. I thought about giving it a second go, making it longer or more “produced,” but honestly…it’s kind of perfect as is—short, sweet, vibey, done. Enjoy!

When we brainstormed about underground raw and deep house at plastic/vibes, the Kyoto-based hero Yusuke Yamamoto a.k.a Freischwimmer is one of the top names that instantaneously crossed our minds. His unrivalled style ranges anywhere between wistful and melodic bars to punchy and clean tunes. Making good use of 20 years of sharp experience in the field, the genuinely creative Japanese stalwart still manages to reinvent himself with an overpowering and toothsome EP released on Planet Gwer a year ago. Listening to his sounds is like chilling in a landscape brimming with Japanese cherry blossoms. Concurrently with his producer and dj occupations, he is also running the Canary Records label, which compiles with brio some of the most talented artists out there such as Rick Wade or Mike Sharon. 

In this 9th session, he ingeniously brings to the table thoughtful house cuts mingled with snappy nu-disco touch from Apparel Wax, DJ Steaw or Marc Brauner. Believe it or not, however hard you’ll try not to dance on this one, you surely couldn’t help.
