Listening

I used this as intro music to my first solo show in August 2010. Imagined as a kind of broken cartoon soundtrack to the kind of cartoon even I don't really think should have been made.
The naming is based on the song Raven by Slade, from which the loop is sampled, and also my friend's cool son also called Raven. And I find the California Raisins uncompromisingly hilarious.

A 2010 remake of an earlier track called Listening. As part of my live show I sang a lyric to this about the importance of sound, and how one should listen more often than speak.
The beat is from one of my favourite funky records, Hobo Strut by John Cameron.

I used samples of monkeys and samples of The Monkees. At my solo show in 2010 I used this as the backing for a song about animal rights.
