French artist Teho and Montreal based comrade Van Did have joined forces on this EP. Combining their talents for building powerful and emotional soundscapes, the duo have released an impressive EP called Hope on Stephan Bodzin’s Herzblut Recordings last year.

It’s little wonder that Teho & Van Did's music has found support from the likes of Applescal, Hernan Cattaneo, Moonbeam, Gabriel & Dresden and Deepfunk, Long Way From Home is a perfect example of their immersive, multilayered sound. Warm bassline, enchanting pads and escalating melodies make for an epic opener. Huacachina is a groovy and progressive composition yet powerful and cinematic.

French Duo, We Need Cracks, deliver a dreamy and captivating remix of Long Way From Home, duo has been catching international attention with very solid releases on labels such as Traum Schallplatten. 

Completing the release is remix by Daniel Zuur, Amsterdam based producer who deliver a deeper and melodic rework that still retains the energy of the original.

A regular across the clubs of his homeland, Bahrein in Buenos Aires, Dorian Gray in Córdoba and Mendoza in Tucuman, Berni is no stranger to spellbinding sonic journeys behind the decks as well as magical production work in the studio.

Now making his Proportion debut, “Echoes of Lotus” is stunningly arranged into an “Intro Mix” that gently gathers pace after a stunning beatless opening that showcases an array of rippling arp, cadenced pluck and sweeping pad textures. A heavy beat enters the fray at the 2-minute mark, heralding a strong rhythmic framework for the free-flowing melodic textures that sit atop as hi-hats and shakers create subtle dancefloor intensity. Waxing and waning with ease, the track is a prescient reminder of Berni’s impressive talent.

Partner track, “Obsidian Bloom” opens with more traditional club-friendly characteristics as a four-to-the-floor kick creates a sturdy backdrop for ticking hi-hats and syncopated bassline to form a dark and dynamic foundation. A swirling lead adds sonic intrigue as it rises and falls with filtered intensity, sharing its space with a huge sweeping pad and white-noise effects. A stripped-back breakdown provides a moment for reflection as the third movement erupts via a filtered snare-roll, before dropping back into the powerful groove and a new immaculately placed melody that takes the track in an energising new direction in the second half.

Where Dru’s original is a deep and melancholic piece Maxxis version is showing us the uplifting part of being melancholic. Bouncing house steps combined with his signature fat and brassy sound design result in a well designed hymn for the peak time hours.

A2 Cheap Picasso - Don’t Play Around (MANIK Remix)
US producer and DJ MANIK always sticks out with his classy works. Cheap PIcassos “Don’t Play Around” was a very well recepted piece working the floors all over. MANIK strips down the original to it’s very essentiell elements. Giving his version a rougher, very oldschoolish vibe.

B1 Bambook - Tow The Line Ft. Name One (Camea Remix)
Ambient noise. Grinding, distorted pads. Bpitch control’s Camea delivers a dark approach. It’s soaking you in and not letting you go.

B2 Bambook - Träume Ft Name One (Quina Remix)
The brand new Stockholm/Miami based production team Quina just signed their first track to Guy Gerber’s Rumors. On JEUDI they are giving “Träume” (german for “Dreams”) their very own dreamy treatment. For us it’s the perfect track for sunrises and late hours.
