Ears Wide Open is my call for you to come wander open-heartedly into the endless realm of beats and melodies I dig, mostly – but not limited to – electronic, No boundaries or preconceptions, just all that music I wanted to share with the world, but I didn’t have the chance yet.

I grew up listening to the radio or better said, the radio grew me musically, infected me with a visceral need to select the music I loved and tape it on cassettes. A regular at festivals from Glastonbury to Gottwood and clubs from London to Ibiza, Nick Gynn aka N-GYNN has picked up acclaim more recently for his time in the recording studio, which led him to release on labels like PLEASURE CLUB, One Records, Small Hours, and Hamam House just to name a few. Ranging from retro-dusty house beats to more avant-garde electro sonorities, Nick's sound is the perfect melt of rampant yet evocative sonorities, all together into a swirling explosion of electronic vibes. He also runs Superlux Records together with Mike Gill, and Johnny Hunter, with each member bringing his own unique flavour to the mix, creating a sound that feels wholesome, while pushing the boundaries of breakbeat, house, garage, rave, electro and more.

Steen Kong Mogensen always kept a low profile and simple and straightforward approach to DJ-ing, doing it for the love of the party, people and music. 

He has been digging vinyl for 40 years, four decades in which his music collection amounted to tens of thousands of club-ready records. He became one of the pillars of the Danish underground scene, throwing multiple raves and parties back in the day, booking names that would eventually become legends of house and techno and owning his own imprint, Multiplex, which gave life to a crazy amount of quality and boundaries pushing music between 1995 and 1998 and more recently since 2017.

PW In Focus is a series of mixtapes aimed at introducing DJs, selectors in performers that played out DJ Bar in the recent past or are set to do so in the near future.
