1. What do you do to get into a creative state?

“I like to go out into my surrounding with a handheld audio recorder and record organic samples. This may including sounds of the forest near my house, for example branches breaking, leaves rustling or stream water running. These samples can often inspire me to create a piece of music.
Besides that, sitting down at my piano and improvising is always a good way to start a writing session and get the creative juices ﬂowing.”

2. How did you learn to produce?

“When I was around 14 years old I had access to a small studio room that had a few synths, a mixing console that clearly hadn’t been used in a long time and an old version of Logic. I used to practically live in that room, along with a couple of friends of mine and we would all experiment making different sounds. That was my ﬁrst introduction to electronic music. From there, I was hooked.
After attending university to study music technology, I landed a job in a local studio where I picked up a few tricks and tips, but mostly I learnt everything I know through my own personal research, along with lots trial and error!”

3. What keeps you going?

“The hunger to create better, more interesting music than my previous releases keeps me coming back to my studio to produce. I’m always experimenting and learning new techniques in the studio, this keeps production exciting for me.
Also kind words from fans and fellow producers is a deﬁnite boost! I’m so humbled reading all the nice comments I receive, it spurs me on to produce and share my music with you all.”

4. What do you want to express with your music?

“I believe I can express my inner feelings and thoughts through my music to convey certain emotions and energies, which hopefully listeners can connect with.
Given the emotionally charged nature of music, it can be used as an outlet for many people, or as a constructive way of dealing with challenging life circumstances. It’s my hope that anyone who listens to my music is moved in some form and is able to lose themselves in the sound. As far as expressing a speciﬁc message; that’s down to the individual listener to interpret.”

5. What, for you, is the purpose of art?

“For me, it’s about communicating ideas and emotions from the artist to the audience; essentially the artist is transmitting a message. The messages that an artist imparts have the power to evoke strong feelings and change minds.”

6. What do you love most about being an artist?

“Connecting with people. Not just through my music itself, but I’ve also met and befriended lots of people from across the globe since embarking on my musical journey.”

7. How would you describe your sound?

“Emotional, deep and hypnotic. I like to layer my tracks with found sounds and little nuances that aid in storytelling and the idea is, those sounds might not be discovered upon the ﬁrst time listening to the track.“
