Stepping up with the hypnotic, heavy-duty wares all set at knocking your senses askew, Belgian producer Peter Van Hoesen lands us a monster of a live set. Responsible for some seriously mind-expanding sorties on the likes of Tresor, Vlek and his self-operated outlets Time To Express & Center 91 over the past 15 years, Van Hoesen has established himself as one of the scene’s driving forces when it comes to integrating these cinematic ambiences into an effervescing mesh of pulsating 4x4 rhythms and a millefeuille of layered envelopes acting like quicksands. Recorded on the occasion of his latest live performance at Tresor Berlin on May 10, this particular live harnesses that deep-diving energy elemental to Van Hoesen’s intricate engineering of hi-velocity dynamics and rippling dub interplays, ushering us headlong into a bright, merciless furnace of sound. "About our live hybrid set
We conceived our performance with storytelling practices in mind, starting with the idea of creating an atmosphere from which we developed our musical narration. You can hear this aspect at the beginning of our hybrid set, where the combination of ambient/dub sounds and field recordings aims to create an introductory and more neutral soundscape. After this kind of incubating phase, we embarked on our musical journey, merging more dramatic vibes with warm, meditative sounds. From there, we gradually introduced rhythmic patterns, with some tribalistic touches, to increase the energy and reach the climax in the final phase, culminating in a special drone dedication to Laurie Anderson.

It felt really being like home playing at Temple #8 (@espacio-perpendicular), such a warm atmosphere and lovely people! The feeling of appreciation and involvement left us with some amazing memories!"

A 4-hour drift through layered atmospheres and leftfield experimentation, this extended opening set by Pianeti Sintetici marked the beginning of DE RIO’s 6th anniversary celebration, a 14-hour open-air gathering held in a hidden location among the hills of Florence. Known for his deeply textured sonic explorations and immersive works, Pianeti Sintetici invited early listeners into a slow-burning journey. Moving from fragile drones and spatial electronics to abstract rhythms and weightless transitions, the set established a space of introspection, friction, and quiet intensity.

Hagva began in 2022 as a shared experiment between CP1 and Not Mass, artists closely tied to Milan’s Evolvere collective and Stagno Records. What started as a dialogue has grown into a practice of dismantling rhythm and building it back stronger, threading techno through post-club ruptures, industrial grit, and deep ambient undertones. From Evolvere’s underground nights in Milan to RSO Berlin, Module CPH, Buka Milano, Tempovìa, and Zurich’s D.A.S., their sets have carried the same uncompromising edge: a refusal to settle into comfort, constantly pulling dancers into new terrain.

The mix we present today is a three-hour live recording from their set at D.A.S. in Zürich earlier this year, capturing Hagva in full flight. There’s no easing in, it’s a straight leap onto a fast-moving train, powered by relentless percussion and groove, with sudden swerves that snap the floor awake. Heavy, urgent, and unpredictable yet always precise, it’s a reminder that energy doesn’t need excess to be overwhelming. For those hearing them for the first time, it’s the perfect entry point; for those who already know, it’s another layer of proof. With their debut EP arriving September 15 on Stagno Records, this set stands as a clear statement of intent.
