Papyrus is harder. However, he is more.. calm than when I first encountered him. He was a lot more desperate then. Now he actually reminds me of, well, Papyrus, even if he's a bit weirder and harder than normal.

Once they start their first trick, this song kicks in. This fight is very much an endurance test. Napstablook is NOT pulling any punches in the name of magic and mystery. Their main battle gimmick is switching Kris' SOUL color between Cyan and Purple. 

Cyan has a similar approach to the attack color trickery that Sans' Orange SOUL mode has, but rather than swapping the attack color with the healing color (or swapping other colors at all for that matter), it swaps specifically light and dark, requiring Kris stay within the bounds of an attack. There will always be at least one attack present within the battle box, and Kris' soul gains a brief amount of immunity when exiting an attack that they can use to navigate navigate to another attack. This also changes the orientation of their SOUL, turning it upside down.

The purple soul mode is a bit of a mix between Undertale's purple soul mode and the Switch-exclusive soul mode seen in Mad Mew Mew's fight. A grid of points is laid out within the battle box and Kris must jump/teleport between the various points to ensure they don't get hit.

These two soul modes can also be combined, visually taking on the purple color while also vertically flipping the SOUL to match the Cyan mode's orientation.

The attacks themselves are based in their various magic tricks. Sawing something in half, pulling things out of hats, crying hats into existence to begin with... the list goes on and I have no intent expanding on it at this time!
