This right here.  THIS!!!!  Goosebumps right as the song started. Simplicity in such a pure perspective goes so far. My first thought was that it reminded me of Mac Miller a ton. RIP 🙏  The industry needs more melodic and meaningful rhymes more than ever. Everyone can relate to anger and depression, especially how things are today. Bring back feel good songs/beats that help create happy memories, instead of reminding people about the bad times. It’s a great thing and necessary don’t get me wrong. There’s just too much sadness everywhere. If you read this… I hope you find whatever makes you happy and can share that feeling with others. Music saves my life. ❤️

When I sit down to write, what often comes to me most naturally (and at times against my own will) are lullabies and waltzes, or some combination of the two. I have obvious sources to blame for this - primarily the fairytale films I adored in my childhood and the timeless melodies that came with them, always embellished with strings, bells and harps. Writing Fairy Songs was a way of celebrating and indulging in my life-long obsession with the lullaby as a mode of music. To me, a lullaby is ephemeral and miniature, shining and secret - something you can hold in your palm, like a keepsake in a trinket box. Some of these songs are intricate and impressionist, others simple and tender, and all are connected in this small, glowing feeling.

The sonic world of this EP is an exploration in what I’ve been referring to as magic realism in sound - my usual sparkly synths are balanced with acoustic sounds, moments of pause and textural noise; I wanted to hear the human hand in the ethereal - as though these sounds were not created in an electronic world, but have always existed among us in the real world. Maybe we’d hear them if we just listened close enough?
