Albuquerque friends Geezy and Tree Gaud combine their passion for classic 140 beats-per-minute dubstep on “Runnit,” delivering a track that’s true to the genre but updated with a modern edge. From the drop the focus is on bassweight, with the first half of the track centred on low end bass rolling over minimal percussion. After the breakdown the instrumentation shifts into a canopy of frenzied bass-heavy synths reminiscent of riddim dubstep. Both artists have been friends since before either of them began producing, and “Runnit” is a testament to their shared admiration for bass music’s history and their desire to innovate.

After Josh Teed’s huge “Recurring Dreams” album and tour over this past year, this remix compilation breathes new life into the album and spans all styles of bass music.  These remixes flip the originals into so much more, and open up the realm of possibilities in DJ sets and live show settings. Baku (LUZCID Remix) opens with Josh Teed’s epic live instrumentation blended with a bouncy drum beat that makes the listener want to move.  Bass growls quickly come in and epicly build into a heavy drop using a call and response between the main synth and bass wobbles.  This track has a perfect contrast of beautiful synths, live strings, and heavy bass that peaks the ears from start to finish.

Rendr is back on Gravitas Recordings July 26th with his ‘Alien Overload’ EP full of technical sound design and mysterious twists.  This full 5-track EP follows his recent remix for Josh Teed on Gravitas, and is a dive into the fresh new artist project.  Rendr launched in 2023 as a free form bass project with all original sound design and a dedication to creativity at its core, immediately capturing the ears of many with a huge debut album.  His top-tier sound design and experimentation makes for a very versatile journey through his sound while staying cohesive; from bouncy glitch-hop, dirty mid-tempo, lush melodies and heavy basslines, Rendr takes the listener on a ride through everything and anything in bass.  We can’t wait to hear more from this very talented artist and watch the journey of this new beginning unfold.
