Insolate's debut LP is remixed by Ben Sims, Pfirter, Sev Dah, Amotik, Under Black Helmet and more for 'Order Is Chaos Remixed' released this June.

Released via her Out of Place imprint a year on from the LP' Order is Chaos', 'Order is Chaos Remixed' sees the Croatian techno artist draft eight of techno's most vital talents to create a remix LP which touches on a spectrum of modern techno sounds.
UK techno legend Ben Sims offers two gritty remixes with pulsating rhythms and spiralling synths whilst Out of Place label co-founder Volster delivers sparkling tones in his remix of 'In Praise of Shadows'. Berlin-based artist Amotik keeps the dynamic energy flowing with a subtle acid revolver before Sev Dah's remix filled with shimmering grooves and old school rawness takes the LP up a notch.
Under Black Helmet's remix of 'Not Alone' features an animated 303 sequence riding over monumental kicks, and Flaminia's atmospheric haunter with deep, syncopated cadence and ominous modulations both leave you enthralled. Then the offbeat madness and capturing sonics lay the foundations of ASEC's remix of 'Mortal Coil' until Pfirter's interpretation rounds things off with sinister oscillations orbiting around and powerful drums.
A powerhouse of the Croatian techno scene, Insolate has been establishing a global presence as a DJ and producer for over 20 years now, delivering as both the label boss and creative force behind the Out Of Place imprint and the electrifying TRAUM events. In 2020 Insolate dropped the critically acclaimed 'Order Is Chaos' album which gained much respect from multiple techno heavyweights, including Paula Temple, Ben Sims, Truncate, Rebekah, Charlotte de Witte, Perc, Exium, and Adriana Lopez to name a few. The album is a substantially broad palette of styles described by DJ Mag as an "exciting journey through trans-dimensional vocals, acid-drenched sequences and floor obligated bangers.

From Detroit influences to shaking 909 sexy-vibes over to machinery working class Techno – Sev Dah spiced this LP up with his own (already recognizable) way of processing sounds. 
This LP is dedicated to the people and the city of Sarajevo and their heroic fight against the fascist occupation during WW2.

Fresh from a series of artist-led 12"s, Om Unit's Cosmic Bridge label returns with 'Dark Matter', its first compilation since 2017's 'Cosmology Selections'. Collected in a triple vinyl LP / digital formats, the release offers a fresh snapshot of the exciting possibilities and experiments happening at the intersection of hip-hop, jungle and bass music; a hybrid sound the label has pioneered since its first release eight years ago.

Across 14 tracks, 'Dark Matter' showcases Cosmic Bridge's growing global roster of artists: Moresounds, Danny Scrilla, Proc Fiskal, Margari's Kid, Oliver Yorke, J:Kenzo, TMSV, vromm, alongside new faces Samba and Rude Operator, and perennial favorites Es.tereo, Synkro and Djrum, the latter two in collaboration with label head Om Unit.

Stylistically the compilation covers a broad range, and gives listeners the space to digest it all with a running time of 75 minutes. There are stripped-down, meditative rollers such as TMSV's flute-led 'Ominous', the bass hypnosis of Danny Scrilla's 'Sacred Waters', and Samba's snappy, booming remix of Om Unit's 'The Lake'. The timeless energy of jungle is channeled in Proc Fiskal's 'Death', a percussive, bouncy number, while Moresounds plays with filters (and your mind) as he refines a less-is-more take of classic themes on 'Watating'. J:Kenzo highlights the music's Jamaican roots on 'Dub For Bashenga'; a tough, pounding cut that goes straight for the chest and which finds its counterpoint in Rude Operator's 'Broken Sky'.

For those who like more expansive, cinematic approaches there are epic waves of drums, slick editing and euphoria in Es.tereo's 'Floating Point' and Vromm's 'Decentralized', while Oliver Yorke's 'Treasured' and Margari's Kid's 'Challenger' squeeze soul from colder sound palettes and tight breakbeats.

Om Unit's two collaborations, 'Reflections' with Synkro and 'Ruins' with Djrum, reflect the compilation's ambitions and breadth. The former is a delicate, uplifting roller that sets you up for the dark rumblings, freeform stylings and frenetic rhythms of the latter. The compilation ends with a track that arguably stands tall on its own, Crypticz's 'Chrysalis' feat. Amy Kisnorbo; an 11-minute epic that plays out like a love letter to the magic of breakbeat science, dub technology and human creativity.

Dark Matter is a finely crafted statement of intent from Cosmic Bridge and Om Unit, shunning easy self-congratulation for a dive into the musical potentials and connections of a sound that is now an established part of the global bass music vocabulary.

‘The Dream’, one of the more melodious singles off Jon Gurd’s powerful 2020 album ‘Lion’ now receives the remix treatment from famed forward-thinking producer and multi-disciplinary artist Max Cooper and electronic musician, sound designer and new media artist Rob Clouth. 

With releases on revered labels such as Sasha’s Last Night On Earth, Erased Tapes, Systematic, and Traum Schallplatten, Max Cooper has been touted by BBC Radio 1 as a "sonic warlord… a wizard when it comes to producing music”. His innovative production has been championed in tastemaker outlets around the world, from Mixmag to Resident Advisor, WIRED, Clash, XLR8R, and DUMMY. Similarly, Barcelona’s Rob Clouth boasts several inter-disciplinary works in his career, alongside a slew of releases on Leisure System, Traum Schallplatten, and Mesh.

In what is their Anjunadeep debut, Cooper and Clouth contort and stretch Gurd’s ’The Dream', interspersing glitched-out percussion and warped chords alongside the original’s arpeggio in an exciting, disorienting arrangement. Talking on the original track, Gurd explains that the 'The Dream’ concludes a lot of the questions that are in the album. On the remix, Gurd aptly declares "it blows my mind.” The remix lands 4th November. 

Dedicated to his older brother, the ‘Lion’ album is the culmination of Jon’s experiences as a brother and father; his encounters with loss, and his subsequent progression as an artist and human being. The album has been championed by the likes of Solomun, Stephen Bodzin, Alan Fitzpatrick, Adriatique, Gorgon City, and Shadow Child.
