From baroque splendour and drama to roiling abstract club propulsions and right back to the beginning again, CS + Kreme’s mix for Bleep is a journey paralleling the swirling sonic diversity of their latest album The Butterfly Drinks The Tears Of The Tortoise. As with the Naarm duo’s wide repertoire of abstract structures, acoustic melanges, and twitchy beats across the bass spectrum, this mix melts choral operatics and esoteric ambience into leftfield dancefloor punches. Breakbeats spewing in stop-start rhythms are spliced with the quivering experiments of Japanese band Boredoms, SOPHIE’s slippery elastic sound design, and a sprawling, flourishing harpsichord suite.
