Giovanni Lucchetti is a London-based DJ and producer who weaves deep and afro house spells across high-end venues across the city. His previous releases on Nervous and Cafe De Anatolia struck a chord, and he became one of our A&R scouts, bringing in such talent as Oscar Barila, Emilie Rachel and Francis De Simone. He met Abigail Smiths at University, where the two wrote the initial "Dreamstate" demo. Fast forward to 2025, and Gio and Kevin McKay have a studio session to turn the demo into a deep house thumper. Abigail Smiths' brilliantly disconnected vocal now has a rolling deep groove with a mesmerising stab and sweet synth sprinkles. So, if you're a fan of Gorge or Dilby, check this one out.

It’s been a minute since we’ve had our head of A&R, Sam Dexter, on the label. 2022 was the last time we had some Dexter deepness to fill up our USB. However, just listening to this sumptuous slice of underground groove, we all agree that “Just A Dream” is worth the wait! Loopy, skippy drums lead the way before wondrously hypnotic keys and a slow-burning bottom end take the groove into overdrive. Next is Dexter’s own vocal (pitched up, to sound female, like Breach did in “Jack”) tells us it was “All just a dream, just a dream” before a delicious horn solo tops the lot. Like a 90s MAW transported to 2025, this is pure jazzy house brilliance.

Born near Milan, Italian Marcel Dope has been immersed in the world of electronic music since his early teens. Having first stepped behind the decks at just 13 years old, his evolution into a producer was a natural progression, leading to his first releases in 2014. Since then, he’s built an impressive résumé with appearances on labels like Happy Techno, Material, and Innocent, while performing alongside global heavyweights including Dennis Cruz, Wade, Joey Daniel, and Neverdogs. His tracks have earned the support of leading figures such as Joseph Capriati, Marco Carola, Paco Osuna, and many more, while as the head of his own label, Dope&Sick, he continues to push his distinct, groove-driven sound. Stepping up for his first release on Blackflag Recordings, Marcel delivers the ‘Make It True’ EP—a powerful three-track package through rolling percussion and hypnotic basslines. Opening with the title track ‘Make It True’, Marcel sets the tone with a slick blend of driving low-end, swinging drums, and captivating vocal snippets, crafting an energetic cut destined for terrace dancefloors. ‘Ma Side’ follows, layering crisp percussion, warm sub-bass, and zipping grooves to create a groove-laden, infectious ride.
