Buckle up for takeoff, as Italian house craftsman Di Saronno joins the ranks of Robsoul Recordings with a first-class debut: the ‘The Jet Set’ EP. Fresh from standout releases on Hard Times and Peppermint Jam, Di Saronno delivers a five-track collection that channels the elegance, energy, and escapism of the high-flying lifestyle.

This is house music for those who travel light but groove heavy. A champagne selection of deep, bumping cuts, built for late-night lounges and runway-ready dancefloors alike.

Leading the EP is the bold, bass-driven ‘Get Up & Walk’, a raw and rhythmic collaboration with rising vocalist Raz. “We met casually in Bologna,” says Di Saronno, “but were soon recording in an intimate session. I was blown away by his gift for melody and lyrics.”

The filtered shimmer of the title track ‘The Jet Set’ follows, gliding smoothly into the breezy guitar-laced ‘4 My Babe’, another sun-drenched Raz collaboration. From there, Di Saronno teams up with California-based beat chemist Tom Carle on ‘Love Profusion’, a soulful, sample-rich jam that reflects their shared love of analog hardware and dusty grooves. “Tom mirrors my exact way of cooking beats. All hardware and samples. I immediately felt the connection,” Di Saronno explains.

Closing things out is ‘Off The Game’, a solo cut and heartfelt nod to Foremost Poets, rounding off the EP with classic house finesse.

‘The Jet Set’ EP is a passport to deep, groovy sophistication, a soundtrack for stylish movers and late-night dreamers.

Melbourne's own A.Well is back with another groove-laden gem, and it's got more bump than a taxi on cobbles. The man behind The Club Well Agency, TwelveEvents, and the late-night show Night.Time is cooking up some seriously chunky house tunes. 

After making waves with his 'In The Air' EP on Refuge Recordings, A.Well is dropping heat with "Start That" on Well Records. This track is a dancefloor weapon, with a bassline that's head-nodding and foot-stomping. It's got that hypnotic groove that'll twist the crowd into knots at any basement session or tunnel party.

A.Well's sound is getting the reload every time from the warehouse crew. Supported by big names like Laidlaw, Parker, and Dennis Sulta, this track comes with serious street cred. His previous bangers have already rattled the East Berlin sweatboxes and London afters, and "Start That" is no different.

We just had to snap this one up. Originally released on Copenhagen's wonderfully-quirky Tartelet imprint – home to bonafide electronic geniuses such as Brandt Brauer Frick, Kenton Slash Demon and Wareika – Tahloula's We Play House is a low-slung, late night, sultry groove in its original incarnation. Seductive vocals and a nonchalant, loose funk b-line are the order of the day, the concoction reminiscent of the likes of Zwicker and Belleruche.

Classy gear indeed, but it was Chris Lattner's typically skippy, bending-bassline remix that Tartelet showcased, and which has been receiving consistent support from plenty of big guns across 2011. While it doesn’t embody the science of a rocket, it sure packs the power of one. This one plays house in jacking, ass-shaking fashion, blending deeper textures with sassy techno wiggle.

M.A.N.D.Y. continue to consistently impress with their wonderfully spooky Sweatbox Remix, treading the line precariously between haunting and moody and curiously euphoric. A teasing, plodding bassline creates a sensual feel, bumping under gentle shimmying hats and bugged-out vocal treatments. Watch out for the high-impact drop. Think Art Department, Alex Nagshineh and so forth. A stunning rework.

Recent Great Stuff signings Nice7 get busy on the final remix, and make the choice of which to play even trickier. The most pumping of the lot, this delectable version sees the Italian duo keep the old skool jack rolling throughout, with the energy levels high from start to finish. If you like your house music lively, vibrant and mischievous, this is guaranteed to tickle your proverbial fancy.

Don’t sleep on this truly excellent package.
