Tronic supremo Christian Smith and Brazil&#8217;s Wehbba have been busy creating a series of innovative single releases together that will be known as the &#8220;Passion Over Fashion - Trilogy&#8221;. The artwork for Claude VonStroke's upcoming 3rd album, "Urban Animal" best summarizes the theme of this full length outing from the dirtybird chief. A collection of architectural photography in disrepair from Detroit and The Midwest were chopped up and reconstructed into the shapes of 3 amazing animal portraits, a lion, a lizard, and a bird.

In the same way, Claude has taken sounds and snippets of his busy and sometimes frantic life and created an album from these simple and complex elements. Beauty and intrigue created from smaller pieces of chaos and adversity.

The introductory single, "Cant Wait," is reminiscent of some of VonStroke's deeper classics while also pushing further into new territory. A sense of restraint and release play games throughout this melancholy tune with a fat bassline locking down the groove. "Can't Wait" has fleeting moments of euphoria that are both surprising and uplifting especially for a summer open air crowd.

"The Clapping Track" then shows us the fun side of VonStroke where he cuts apart 16 claps and then brings them back together - building up to a standing ovation as a resonate organ sounds. This house anthem has already been destroying the Dirtybird Ibiza residency and summer festival circuit as well.

Both tracks are great for the club and leave us wondering what other happy surprises have been constructed out of the infinite imperfect pieces inside Claude VonStroke's head.

Pan-Pot are one of the most exciting production duets around today, having garnered success with tracks such as ‘Charly ’ and ‘Captain my Captain’ as well remixes of the like of Booka Shade’s ‘Regenerate’. For this exclusive release on Soma, Pan-Pot lend their talents to Slam’s ‘Lifetimes’, providing two fresh and exciting remixes that throb, pulse and build into instant dancefloor classics.
The EP kicks of with their ‘Bass Times Remix’ where precise, minimalist percussion, vast soundscapes and distorted basslines are laid down underneath a controlled and stripped back original vocal. The track builds nicely to a vox-laden broken beat drop, and a 2 minute long 4/4 techno stomp. Pan- Pot’s ‘Tribute To Life Remix’ follows with yet more murky soundscapes, a thumping kick drum, progressive builds in percussion and the of course that bassline . Twisting the original track to provide a darkly nuanced and intricate tech-house monster, Pan-Pot do more than justice to this remix.

Kill Frenzy's storming debut on dirtybird, the addictive, juke charged brute with its ingenious hip hop breakdown, is back for re-release with a slew of remixes from some choice label affiliates. Not content with the originals genre-traversing legacy (including plays from Soul Clap to Skrillex and pretty much everyone in between), Belgiums booty obsessed Kill Frenzy has rallied the likes of The Martin Brothers, Zombie Disco Squad, Plastician and Mark Starr to deliver their own take on the track, bringing the work out to brand new dance floors in the process. 

The Martin Brothers set the pace with a characteristically heavy house bass line, the twisted "make that booty clap" vocal sample dancing over the driving groove. Zombie Disco Squad let's the buttock-smacking claps take centre stage, while a clever percussion score and perfectly timed ellipsis make for certified ghetto house dance floor material. Dirtybird debutant by way of Croydon, Plastician, focuses on the bass elements of the original, creating a swaying dubstep rhythm where booty claps become glock pops before your very eyes, while Mark Starr opts for a similarly languid groove, without losing sight of Kill Frenzy's playful genre-splicing. 

"Make That Booty Clap feat. DJ Funk" became an instant milestone in the dirtybird canon and its great to see Kill Frenzy's debut receiving such masterful reworks a year on.

On the heels of our "American Hustle" EP - we are back with our boys Jaceo & Vedic - this time on Bitten Records with our "313 (Detroit Calling)" EP.  Named after the city's area code - lyrically the track is an homage to the city's resilience in the face of constant hardships - to give birth to a musical genre and movement that has touched the lives of millions around the world. 

The flip side - "212" is not actually named after New York City's dialing code as one might suspect - but is rather the temperature (in fahrenheit) that water turns from a liquid into a gas (pretty fucking hot).  The words - courtesy of the one and only Ray Winstone - from the incredible film "Sexy Beast" - underscore that hot feeling we've all experienced in our favorite neighborhood 'sweat on the walls' nightclub. Ok so maybe it wasn't 212 fahrenheit in the club - but you get the point!

Eats and Justin sculpt a sultry house groove from the off, interspersing the slinky sounds with mischievous vocal effects. An initial percussion breakdown paves the way for perhaps the most filthy bass line crunch you ever heard: all bow down to the almighty Gettup! Vivid chord stabs, vocal reverbs and some seriously inspired drum work all pull their weight on this skillful, larger than life club record.
