The Doom storyline revolves around an unnamed space marine, known as Doomguy or the Doom Slayer, who battles hordes of demons from Hell. The story begins with a UAC (Union Aerospace Corporation) facility on Mars experimenting with inter-dimensional gateways, which accidentally opens a portal to Hell. Demons flood the facility and Mars, and the Doom Slayer is left to fight them off alone. The story then expands to encompass the entire Earth and the multiverse, with the Doom Slayer facing off against various demon lords and cosmic entities.
