All throughout history, religion, maths, music and beyond, the number five has a powerful sense of meaning and poignancy… And it's a number that isn't lost on the Berlin / New York-based brand ICONYC. The first milestone moment that gives any true sense of perspective, five years is a special moment for any creative endeavour. Especially in the turbulent world of the 21st century music game. 

Transcending trends, algorithms, diminishing attention spans, a global pandemic and everything else the world has thrown at us all, since 2016 ICONYC has grown from its humble roots to establish itself as one of the most trusted and exciting platforms in house and techno. 

With its near-permanent residence in the upper regions of the Beatport charts and a dizzying menu of spin-off operations from high-profile Red Bull TV series ICONYC TV to the ICONYC Production Academy, ICONYC has consistently stayed true to its vision: to champion the most exciting, authentic and innovative house and techno out there, to encourage the next generation, to celebrate the universal language of the dancefloor, and to craft special releases like this powerful double-disc mix from leading German tastemaker duo Stil & Bense and progressive house veteran label founder John Johnson.

Revelation of Sound is happy to present David Guzy (Marburg/Berlin, Germany) who started DJing a while ago with a good friend, playing Hip Hop and Funk as „Guusbert“. Soon due to the influence of his friend Jonas Saalbach, „GUZY“ was introduced to Electronic music and he
immediately fell in love with it and puts the Passion he has for this Genre into his productions and sets. Guzy has refined his sound over the years but his love for Deep and Progressive-House never changed. Early 2017 his first Collaboration came out as a co-producer with Foreign Guest on the "Morva Ep" which came out on Underyourskinrecords and hit more then 174.000 plays on Spotify. Listen here:

Since 2018 more productions showed up, his first ever own production came out as a free download via Wildfang Records. Not long after his next song appeared on the various artist of Wildfang, a song called

In October Jonas Saalbach and Guzy ́s label “radikon” starts, they work together with following artists to create a new entourage of creative friends. We are talking about this constellation of people: Dahu, Innellea,
Yubik, Foreign Guest, Tony Casanova, Budakid, Jonas Saalbach and Guzy. Since Guzy started he played all over Germany. He also played shows in switzerland for example at “Schneiderei” and also at „Hive Club“.He made it out of Europe and played in Countries like the United
States, in Vietnam and in several Locations in Beirut Lebanon like B018, Projekt and Off and On Barbershop.

In Germany he plays all over the Country he played already in well Named Clubs like Sisyphos, Ritter Butzke (Berlin), Kultstätte Keller (Berlin), Turtur (Hamburg), MS Stubnitz (Hamburg), Stadtgarten (Köln), Schumacher (Bochum), Waldschänke Dornheim (Würzburg)... He played b2b Sets with for example Jonas Saalbach, Bigasti, Marc Poppcke or Oliver Winters.

Unser Autor Simon Rucker von unterwegs-reiseblog liefert heute die Fortsetzung zu seiner komplexen und vielschichtigen Dystopie, die auf den ersten Blick an Ereignisse aus dem Geschichtsunterricht erinnern mag. Eine neue Figur betritt heute die Bühne und scheint Lichtbild und Schattengestalt zugleich zu sein. Auf seinen Schultern liegt eine schwere Last und sein Kopf ist voll mit düsteren Gedanken. Die pochenden Fragen, die unerbittlich die Schädeldecke malträtieren, werden musikalisch von unseren heutigen Gast Rauschhaus porträtiert. Sein Beat gibt den Takt der Gedankenblitze des Protagonisten wieder und entwirrt das Chaos, um uns einen Blick hinter die Kulissen dieser Szenerie zu gewähren.  

Spät am Abend sitzt Jacek Prym allein im weißen Sessel vor den Panoramafenstern der Präsidentensuite des Hotels Ancien Art am Grand-Place. So hat er sich das nicht vorgestellt. Er dreht das Glas Lagavulin langsam zwischen seinen Fingern hin und her. Die dunkelbraune Flüssigkeit bricht sich in den Kristallen. Tief unter ihm die Lichter der Großstadt. Er hätte sich nicht vorstellen können, wie einsam es ist, ein Präsident zu sein. Der erste Präsident. Der erste Präsident eines neugeborenen Staates. Bald Vater eines neugeborenen Kindes. Sein junges Alter ist Teil der neuen EU-Policy. Zwischen den Lichtern sieht er sein Gesicht. Es spiegelt sich in den dicken Scheiben. Wenn man genau hinschaut, bemerkt man, dass er gar nicht mehr so jung aussieht wie in den Streaming-Aufnahmen. Er selbst bemerkt es. Obwohl man in seinen eigenen Augen ja eigentlich niemals, niemals, niemals altert. 
Verantwortung. Ein großes Wort. Ist es das, was er nun für das alte Europa hat? 8.000 Kilometer weiter südwestlich fegt ein trockener staubiger Wind über die kahle Ebene. Dort in der Ferne sind die Reste der Wolkenkratzer von Downtown Manhattan zu sehen. Nichts, aber auch gar nichts ist übrig geblieben von den nordamerikanischen Staaten. Ihm liegen hier Informationen vor, die der Mehrheit der Menschen nicht einmal ansatzweise bekannt sind. Dennoch… Ob der völligen Auslöschung nahezu aller Menschen, Tiere und Pflanzen und sämtlicher Infrastruktur eine gezielte Aktion des Ostens vorausging oder ob sie auf einen endgültigen Kollaps der Energiesysteme zurückzuführen ist, weiß nicht einmal er zu sagen, falls das überhaupt jemand weiß. Zwar hat er seine Vermutungen, doch er würde sich hüten, damit etwas anzufangen. Gelegentlich werden aus dem nordamerikanischen Ödland Survivors geborgen, die haarsträubende Berichte abliefern. Offenbar sammeln sich überlebende Banden in Camps enormer Ausmaße. Aufklärungsdrohnen können das bestätigen. Viel Budget wird in die Missionen zur Klärung der Zustände im Ödland nicht mehr gesteckt. Es ist anderswo viel dringender nötig. Von systematischen Misshandlungen, widerwärtigen Machtsystemen und scheußlichen Mutationen ist die Rede, wenn Survivors geborgen werden. Doch das ist dieser Tage nicht Fokus seines Grübelns. Jacek Prym weiß, dass die Nordhälfte des amerikanischen Kontinents verlorenes Land ist, er hat anderes zu tun.

What is my purpose? A question that „Greene“ has always been moved by. At the end of 2019 it became clear - music is the answer. So the Hamburg guy began to convert his creative ideas to musicproductions. Releases followed quickly on Mobilee,ICONYC, Traum, AWEN or Ein2. Driven by expressing his feelings and to capture the beauty of nature in music his tracks follow melodic technoid patterns and can‘t be defined by one genre only. His style is to be described somewhere between melodic techno and progressive House. Podcasts and sets are worked out intuitively and follow the energy of the day or of the crowd. In 2020 he started together with a bunch of other djs his Event „Katzenball“. You should be curious about what is coming next.

„Was macht mich glücklich, was ist meine Berufung?“ Eine Frage die „Greene“ immer bewegte. Ende 2019 war es dann klar - Music is the Answer. So begann der Hamburger damit seine kreativen Ideen in der Musikproduktion umzusetzen. Schnell folgten Releases auf Mobilee,ICONYC, Traum, AWEN oder Ein2. Angetrieben davon Gefühlen Ausdruck zu verleihen oder auch die Schönheit der Natur musikalisch einzufangen folgen seine Tracks stets melodisch technoiden Mustern und sind nicht immer nur auf ein Genre festzulegen. Sein Stil bewegt sich irgendwo zwischen melodic Techno und progressive House. Podcasts und Sets entstehen intuitiv und folgen der Energie des Tages oder der des Publikums. 2020 startete er gemeinsam mit befreundeten Djs seine Eventreihe „Katzenball“. Es tut sich einiges, man darf also gespannt sein was da noch kommt!
