GreenFonic's adaptation of Peter Maxwell Davies' Farewell to Stromness reimagines the piece for symphonic orchestra, turning the original protest against a proposed uranium mine into a powerful battle anthem. While Davies’ composition reflected sorrow for a town's uncertain future, GreenFonic's version captures the people of Stromness rising against bureaucracy and industrial forces.
By all means, this is a study or exercise from a student still learning to master the art of electronic music composition.
