Michael Penny aka Greenlight Shawdy is a recording artist from Chapel Hill, North Carolina that has taken over the music scene in his hometown.  With a fan base that is continuously growing, music from Greenlight Shawdy has spread to neighboring cities, colleges, and local radio stations, and he has created a network of producers who all contribute to improving the quality of work he presents to his followers.
His discography includes: Swag Check (2010), Everythang’s A Go (2011), and Greenlight Shawdy Go (2012), as well as numerous tracks over some of mainstreams hottest songs.
With a style similar to Rich Homie Quan, T.I, and other down south artists, Greenlight Shawdy is deeply rooted in the rap and hip-hop genre and spends lots of time with fans, working with his in-house engineer, Chris West, and doing as many shows as possible.  While he keeps exploring every opportunity possible, Greenlight Shawdy plans to continue working on his current mixtapes “Streetz Beatz” and “Paint the City Green”; slated for an early 2014 release.
