Episode 11 - Khor Kalba Mangrove Centre Part 1

In the second part of the visit, we head outdoors and visit the UAE's oldest mangrove forest and learn more about the birds that call the area their home. 

The Khor Kalba Mangrove Centre is one of the most recent ecotourism projects in Kalba, reflecting the area’s rich ecological terrain. Due to its unique location in the middle of an ancient stand of mangroves, visitors taking the outdoor tour have an opportunity to see the oldest mangrove forest in the Emirates, with trees up to 8 meters tall.

Episode 12 - Khor Kalba Mangrove Centre Part 2

The Kalba Bird of Prey Centre has free-flying demonstrations, along with aviaries housing owls, eagles, buzzards, vultures and, of course, falcons. Using live demonstration and displays, the centre introduces visitors to a host of native raptor species, highlighting the region’s wildlife landscape. In this episode. Abdul Karim Hanif takes us on a journey through the episode as we learn more about the birds and their unique characteristics as well as the breeding programs in place.

Episode 13 - Kalba Bird Of Prey Center (27.3.24)

In the first part of the visit to Sharjah Safari, we explore the first zone of the attraction which is called "To Africa." This is one of the 12 environments present at the Sharjah Safari. We look at the significance of the Birdi Reserve as well as exploring the walking experience the  islands and archipelagos scattered along the eastern coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean.

Episode 14 - Sharjah Safari Part 1 (28.3.24)

We step into the wild in this episode as Abdul Karim explores the next zones and areas of Sharjah Safari. We head onto the group bus departure terminals and hop on the captivating safari experience.

We first visit Sahel, which is represented by deserts, pastures and diverse wildlife. It extends in Africa from the Atlantic coast of Mauritania in the west to Eritrea and the Red Sea in the east, and is a transitional area rich in wildlife between the Sahara Desert in the north and the Savannah to the south.

The third region, the Savannah, extends in eastern and southern Africa from the coast in the north to the Kalahari in the southwest. This African tropical grassland covers half the area of the African continent and is home to the largest concentration of biodiversity on Earth.

Episode 15 - Sharjah Safari Part 2 (29.3.24)

In this episode, we meet the King of the Jungle. Abdul Karim takes us to the Serengeti of Sharjah Safari, where we learn more about unique facts of a lion. 

We start the tour at Serengeti which celebrates the largest migration of animals in the world every year, as large groups of herbivores migrate across the Serengeti plains, and works to attract predators and animals that feed on carrion, crossing the Mara River, where Nile crocodiles lie in the murky waters, a dangerous predator to migratory herbivores.

The fifth region, Nkorongoro, formed from an extinct crater, is a unique ecosystem and home to some of Africa's most famous species. While the sixth region, Moremi, is inspired by the canyons and valleys of southwest Africa that were formed over centuries by heavy monsoon rains,

Episode 16- Sharjah Safari 3 (01.04.24)

In this episode we learn more about the aforestation campaigns in Sharjah. We begin our journey by visiting Al Munthather reserve.

Al Muntather Reserve, is distinguished by its desert nature, and the abundance of trees, pastures and wild plants in it. The reserve is located on Sharjah Maleiha Road, and covers an area of 9 square kilometres. It is home to over one and a quarter million Al Ghaf and Sedr trees and is considered an integrated reserve with its trees and wild plants.
