Greenshine is a Cork Based Family Trio known for their close harmonies and dexterity on a variety of instruments. They have two albums to date with a third due for release in June of 2019. In the meantime, BEND LIKE A WILLOW is a track from their friend Mazz O Flaherty's project FARE THEE WELL TO SESSIONS FROM THE SHOP. Mazz is the owner of the smallest and most renowned privately owned record shop in Ireland DINGLE RECORD SHOP and she has long been a great friend to independently produced Irish music. A few years ago she began hosting a podcast from the shop which features an interview and live performance from various artists, some famous, some infamous! One year she was asked by Electric Picnic to do the podcast from the festival and Greenshine amongst others took part. To date her podcasts have been accessed by well over two and a half million people. Visitors to the shop read like an absolute musical who's who - Christy Moore, Dervish, Sharon Shannon, Steve Cooney, Arlo, Paul Simon, Bono, Glen Hansard, Paddy Keenan - you name it, they've all dropped in and probably played a tune. 
When Mazz approached a lot of her musician friends with the idea of winding down the podcast with a compilation album we were all so happy to get involved. She asked me to help her get the word out by sending one of Greenshines' tracks BEND LIKE A WILLOW as an advance of the album which also features tracks by many artists such as Jack O Rourke, Luka Bloom, Lumiére, Myles O' Reilly, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, John Duhan, Mazz herself and a cohort of traditional musicians including Fergus O' Flaherty as well as some cross generational family performances from Mazz' own family and, indeed, Greenshine. 
FARE THEE WELL TO SESSIONS FROM THE SHOP will be released in the Summer of 2019.

GREENSHINE is a Cork based family trio, Noel Shine, Mary Greene and their daughter Ellie. GREENSHINE is a family trio comprising Noel Shine, Mary Greene and their daughter Ellie. Their material straddles the boundaries of contemporary, folk and roots and includes many self-penned songs. Their fast picking and close harmonies are a treat to the ear. Noel is a multi-instrumentalist, turning his hand to guitar, bass, mandolin, bouzouki and traditional whistle and this musical dexterity had seen him much in demand as a session and band player by artists as diverse as The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem and funk and soul legends The Republic of Loose amongst many others. Mary brings rhythm guitar to the mix and her voice is a wonderfully versatile instrument. She is much in demand for her recording session work and has added her talents to the albums of Christy Moore, John Spillane, Mick Hanly and Frances Black as well as cult psychedelic outfit Dr. Strangely Strange.
