Suns of Dub is a performing ensemble and production team, creating unique sound experiences that blend live instruments and dub influenced genres. Their hybrid reggae sound includes live melodica, steel pan, nyabinghi drums, live dub and DJ effects. The group has been working and releasing music together since 2010. Riddimentary – Suns of Dub Selects Greensleeves pairs the group with the Greensleeves and VP Records catalogue of reggae masters for a musical tour through the crucial tracks that have formed the outlook and output of the ensemble. The set is a continuous DJ mix of seventeen songs on CD, Twelve selected full tracks on vinyl LP and both the mix and seventeen full tracks on the digital album. Among the featured artists on the album is the legendary Augustus Pablo, whose son Addis is a founding member. Jah Gumby , bass player of Ooklah The Moc and mastermind of Father Pslams Studio, put together an all 12" vinyl singles mix of his most influential Greensleeves Records to celebrate Greensleeves 40th anniversary. Gumby, an avid record collector, selectah and all around soundman, heavily influenced the reggae sound in his home, Hawaii with his unique blend of Dub, Vintage Dancehall, and Hawaiian influences. This mix showcases Gumby’s rootikal style paying homage to the sonic soundscape of the late 70’s dancehall, reggae, dub sound that Greensleeves captured so well in the productions by Junjo Lawes and Linval Thompson. Jah Gumby continues to carry the torch for Greensleeves in Hawaii with his love and passion for Jamaican music and culture.

New York, NY- The new studio album from international reggae star Alborosie, titled Unbreakable - Alborosie Meets The Wailers United is slated for release June 29th with digital pre-orders going live Friday, May 18th.

Enlisting The Wailers United (former members of Bob Marley and The Wailers with the addition of Aston Barrett Jr.) for instrumental backing, the album upholds the tradition of roots- rock-reggae. While honoring traditional reggae sounds, the inclusion of Alborosie's re-visioning of the Metallica classic "The Unforgiven" featuring Raging Fyah adds a new edge to the album that addresses contemporary issues with a thoroughly modern feel. 

Alborosie is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, engineer and a dynamic talent in the contemporary reggae scene. “Unbreakable” is his ninth album for the Greensleeves label, following his last release “Freedom in Dub” in 2017. “Unbreakable” gets its roots from reggae’s great history and points toward a future vision of the music with the sonic prowess that has become synonymous with Alborosie productions. 
 
The first single, “Contradiction” featuring Chronixx serves as the perfect introduction to the project. Self-produced and written by Alborosie who comments, "the song delivers a message to the people and the youths about everyday life and the social and political climate we are currently living in." Other artists featured on the album are hit makers Beres Hammond, Jah Cure, and J Boog.
 
“Alborosie continues to expand his creative vision,” said Christopher Chin, CEO of VP Records. “This album looks to be his best yet and we are very excited about the release.”

On the cusp of an extensive European tour, music a video for "Contradiction featuring Chronixx" is in production with more videos and performances to be confirmed.

Wailing Souls are standard bearers and among the few active surviving elder statesmen from the birth and the golden era of reggae music. 

With a career spanning more than five decades, from rock steady through reggae to dancehall and beyond, their canon is part of the soundtrack of Jamaica itself. Songs including “Fire House Rock,” “Jah Jah Give Us Life,” “Mr. Fire Coal Man,” and “Shark Attack” mark creative high points in reggae history.
 
With the 2020 release of Back A Yard, produced by Alborosie, the group marks 25 albums in a career that includes three Grammy Award nominations for Best Reggae Album, and a pioneering 1992 appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Pipe and Bread’s creative history dates to Jamaica’s rock steady days in a group called The Renegades with George Haye. A number of name changes would take place into the 1970s, while they would first use the name Wailing Souls for a track called “Gold Digger” for producer Lloyd Daley in 1970. At that time, Pipe and Bread were joined by Norman “Fats D” Davis and Oswald “Sabu” Downer. With this lineup, the group also made a series of key recordings for Coxson Dodd’s iconic Studio One label, which included “Mr. Fire Coal Man,” “Back Out,” and “Things & Time.” These recordings either credited Wailing Souls or The Classics.
 
The group’s close association with Bob Marley & The Wailers during this era included singing harmony on Marley’s “Trench Town Rock” and seeing two tracks released on Marley’s Tuff Gong label in 1972, as Pipe & The Pipers.
 
While the Souls have worked with many record labels over the years, including Island, Columbia, and BMG, many associate their greatest recordings with Greensleeves Records and a series of albums including Fire House Rock, Inchpinchers, On The Rocks, and Stranded. During this period, the group was known for its four-part harmonies that included George “Buddy” Haye and Garth Dennis, formerly (and subsequently) of Black Uhuru. They were both in the group from 1976-1985, starting with the update of “Things & Time.”

With Back A Yard, Wailing Souls further solidify their place among Jamaican music’s all-time greats.
