“A shattering annihilation, a feeling of being inside an explosion, and being fragmented into countless tiny shards. I felt as though I was being turned inside out, as though my innards were extruding through my mouth. My body was apparently rolling on the ground (as I later realized), coiled into a ball like the ourobouros serpent. All distinctions between inner and outer, self and other, above and below, were obliterated. Animal sounds appeared to be coming from my mouth. Bridging the world of form and interstellar life through music has been a quiet, long-running mission on Earth for most of time, and Starya knows she’s part of a much larger fabric of creators carrying out this operation. The singer-songwriter-producer-DJ-multi-instrumentalist spends most of her time in the cloud and out of the human-drama-fray, streaming on Twitch from her off-planet studio and occasionally coming down to bless us with an IRL festival or club performance to keep our joy levels steady and help harmonize the species

Starya’s tracks and mixes have a transcendental quality, an essence that can’t quite be qualified except to say it got her opening for Skrillex, Justice, 2manydjs, Kill The Noise, Tokimonsta, ZEDD, Arty, Diplo, Mija, Boyz Noize, and Dillon Francis to name few. Her former artist name Tuff GHost allowed her to stealth-move between the worlds of hip-hop, techno, electro, house and dubstep as what some might call a DJ’s DJ, but as Starya she emerges in true form, singing over her DJ sets to haunting, enrapturing, original pop-house songs with an ethereal other-worldy edge that’s distinctively hers.

Last summer, Starya joined the Altered States family with her single release “Meadowlark.” Now she’s revving up towards “Gradient,” an ethereal new track that should attract fans of Grimes, Justice, Cobrah, Ninajarachi, Uffie, The Knife, and more.

Greg Gow is one of Canada’s most accomplished electronic musical talents with a growing presence and impact at home and across the world. He regularly brings his unique sound and performance excellence to premium venues across four continents. The award-winning producer and DJ consistently pushes the boundaries of his art, with his hypnotic sound, a skillful hybrid of soulful Detroit techno, marinated in the diverse flavors of his Toronto roots. 

There are haunting echoes in Greg’s music to the sounds of legendary world techno pioneers Derrick May, Kevin Sanderson, and Carl Craig, all of whom are his musical mentors and his abiding inspiration. Greg’s track “The Bridge” was instrumental in re-launching May’s iconic Transmat label, and his releases on Sanderson’s KMS took the techno world by storm at a pivotal time. Multiple collaborations have spread his penetrating sound to other leading labels, including Radioslave’s Rekids/ RSPX, Steve Bug’s Poker Flat, Christian Smith’s Tronic, Adam Beyer’s Truesoul, and Dubfire’s SCI+TEC.

Since 2001, Greg’s own label, Restructured Recordings, has pushed deep, funky,
driving melodic techno from artists such as Mateo Murphy, Samuel L Session, Ian
O’Donovan, and of course, Greg himself. For over three years he has produced and distributed a well-received monthly podcast series. This Is Modulations, features recordings of live sets as well as studio mixes.

Beyond his studio prowess, Greg is one of Canada’s most respected techno
ambassadors, regularly playing alongside other behemoths of dance music. He has starred from coast to coast in each of Canada, the United States and Mexico; from the top to the tip of South America; and widely across Europe and Asia. Global highlights include The BPM Festival; Output NYC; Movement Detroit; Movement Torino, Italy; Watergate Berlin, Ushuala, Ibiza; Club Space Miami; Creamfields, Dubai; and Club Air Tokyo; among many more. 

On his home turf, Greg has a residency at Toronto’s Vertigo, highlights at Montreal’s Stereo, and appears frequently at many of Canada’s premiere festivals like Electric Island. Greg’s track I Knew Techno, released on his Restructured Recordings label, won the 2023 Juno Award in the Underground Dance Single Of The Year category. These prestigious awards presented annually by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to recognize outstanding national achievements in Canada’s music industry. 

With the help of Avid Artist Agency Greg Gow is now planning a world tour to celebrate his 20 years of ever evolving success and spread his vibrant Techno sound.
