Guitarist Greg Gatti writing his open G Rolling Stones tuned rock n roll Guitar on this one with Nik Frost on vocals giving it the bravada it needs. Originally called Light it up but changed to Death of Rock n Roll when Frost took over on vocals. The late great Todd Youth is on lead guitar, one of the last recorded guitar recordings of Todd Youth that is known. God Bless Todd, we all miss him very much in the rock and punk music scene. Greg & Matt formed the THE LAST DAYS IN 2001 and the band broke up in 2007-2008 when Greg formed the band BLACKPOOL REPUBLIC in Los Angeles 2008.

The band was a side project called Trains to Mexico that never really got on the Tracks. This was before Greg formed The Last Days and before Neal Carlson formed his rock band Bona Roba. 2001-2002. Neal went on to land a spot on RockStar INXS and front the band MINK with a major record deal and album recorded and mixed by Sylvia Massey. You can still see his awesome performances on youtube for Rockstar INXS & MINK videos.  Greg & Neal were heavily into the Afghan Whigs at the time of this recording and it worked for the song for sure! Enjoy this rare and only 1 of 2 songs recorded with Neal & Greg together.  Phil Bianco on Bass & Steve Ackerman on drums.

As heard on KISW Seattle in 1998-99 with DJ Kathy Faulkner, Funnel Cake was the band in the late nineties Greg played with after moving to Seattle in 1996.  The band turned down a record label offer and almost signed with Motown legend and Tiffany producer record label owner George Tobin after a weekend flight to LA covered by Mr Tobin for the whole group. The band decided to hold out but later broke up about a year later. 6 Song Ep still exists and holds up really well. Greg Gatti on Guitar, Rich Evans on Vocals & Guitar, Ken Hahn on Drums and Jeff Maher on Bass. Recorded & Mixed by WES at Uptone Studios in Tacoma, WA owned by guitarist Clint Werner from Seaweed and engineer WES at the time. This was the last 2 inch analog tape recording used by Greg or his past bands. Enjoy the warm & deep analog sounds.
