Funky Sci-Spy

Recorded with GarageBand for iPad. For drums, I used GB drum machine. Bass is my Fender Jaguar through GB "Sunshine" amp. The guitar is my Epiphone Dot through an old Digitech multi-effects box. Bass and Guitar tracked seperate, but live. Excuse my gutiar playing... I am bass player, not a guitarist. The synth is MIDI into GB. Dedicated to a dog I never met.

Around and Around (Dr. Jack Demo)

This was mixed with way too much bottom end. The kick drum is overpowering the whole track, but, I sort of like the groove in it and it the keys sound good. This was made with Garage Band, Ampkit, and there is some Moog stuff in there as well. Bass Guitar and Guitar are live. The drums are canned GB smart drums. The keys are MIDI GB. There are two bass tracks, one is just an OC-3 running with the bass drum... hence the boomy synthy sound.

Hapless Funk

This was a groove I recorded on bass in one pass. I spent the next week or so trying to come up with a fitting guitar line, and it didn't pan out. I asked mzcoffman to come over and take a listen and he recorded two different versions. I liked them both and mixed both of them... however I'm lousy at mastering. mzcoffman used his iPad to as an "amp" to record direct to my Tascam recorder. The drums are by "Dr. Boss". The bass was recorded using a Sansamp direct to my soundboard. The bass is a Peavey T-40 with both pickups wide open.

Groove

My name is Gregg, I live in New Jersey. I'm a "hobby musician", I write music for fun. Consider the tracks you find here on Soundcloud to be a collection of ideas, demos, and scratch tracks. Each song is still evolving. 

I am primarily a bass player, but I dabble in keys and guitar. I have a growing interest in synthesizers. I utilize Garageband on the iPad and other iOS apps. I also use a small portable digital recording studio in my home. 

I am involved in a blues/classic band with a great group of guys.
